Human Body Systems Fall Project

Students will be completing an individual project to complement our work in class. Students will be given four days in class to ask clarifying questions, choose an appropriate topic, get started with research, and make significant progress on the project. After these four days in class, the entire project will become homework. Students without access to digital resources at home will be offered more traditional visual aid choices. Suggested Timeline 11/2-11/5: Choose a topic, ask questions, begin research using research guide (topic choice due by the beginning of class 11/5) 11/20: Research guide due signed off by Mr. Clark (research to be completed in students science journal) 12/10: Final product due, presentation schedule presented to students EXCEL science students will choose between three broad categories: a disease/condition, a health care career, or a current issue in medicine. Each type of project has different research and scoring criteria. Please be sure to follow the correct set of criteria for your project. EXAMPLE TOPIC IDEAS. STUDENTS ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE TOPICS LISTED BELOW. ALL TOPICS MUST BE CLEARED BY MR. CLARK. The final product will include a visual aid and a presentation. The Disease/Condition and Health Care Career options will be informative presentations accompanied by a digital visual aid (PowerPoint, Keynote, Adobe, etc) or a more traditional tri-fold poster board. The Current Issue presentations will require a visual aid and a presentation that involves facilitating audience discussion/debate
