Grup colar Agricol Dumbrvioara Teacher: Kiss Andrea Grade : 3rd Textbook: Way Ahead , Macmillan Lesson: Hippos are big Level : beginner No of students : 25 Time: 50 minutes Aims: At the end of the lesson Ss can: practise reading skills ( reading to confirm expectations, reading for specific information, reading for general understanding) speaking for fluency predict the content of the text describe an animal using new words solve the puzzle Aims for the teacher: to make sure the pupils have any necessary background knowledge or experience to arouse the pupils interest and curiosity to give Ss the opportunity to use language in private, face-to face interaction; to develop Ss ability to communicate freely and spontaneously in the activity Assumed knowledge: Ss are familiar with the topic (animals) therefore will not encounter many problems in order to use it correctly. Assigning homework

T gives guiding questions for SS to make suggestions. T checks comprehension, and provides revising functions. SS have to solve a puzzle and stick the picture on a sheet of paper to make a poster. Then SS describe the cartoon character. T lets all the SS accomplish the task in groups first then asks one or two of them to present the poster in front of the class. T explains to SS the task. T presents them a model. T gives marks for SS performance.
