PAGE 1 OF 3 April 25, 1975 TURBINE ASSEMBLY, NEW THIRD-STAGE WHEEL AND POWER TURBINE SUPPORT OIL SUMP COVER--INSTALL PLANNING INFORMATION: EFFECTIVITY: All 250-C20B Turbine Assemblies prior to S/N CAT 33023 except S/N CAT 33008 and S/N CAT 33020; all 250-B17B Turbine Assemblies prior to S/N CAT 80032. To eliminate excessive oil smoke emitting from the eXhauSt ports following shutdownof 250-C20B and 250-B17B engines. The exhaust oil smoke emission at engine shutdown is minimized by replacing the C20B/B17B turbine thirdstage wheel and the power turbine support oil sump cover with the C20/B17 turbine third-stage wheel and power turbine support oil sump cover. This change restores the No. 7-11 labyrinth seal. Following replacment of the third-stage wheel, the power turbine rotor assembly is reidentified. All changes described in this bulletin must be accomplished simultaneously. To be accomplished at first availability. FAA-DER Approved overhaul following parts

TURBINE ASSEMBLY, NEW THIRD-STAGE WHEEL AND POWER TURBINE SUPPORT OIL SUMP COVER-INSTALL ACCOMPLISHMENT I. INSTRUCTIONS:

At time of turbine overhaul: A. B. Replace P/N 6888633 Turbine Third-stage Wheel. Wheel with P/N 6887113

Replace P/N 6888626 Power Turbine Support Oil Sump Cover Assembly with P/N 6888547 Cover Assembly.

II.

Following incorporation of the P/N 6887113 Third-stage Wheel, the Power Turbine Rotor Assembly is reidentified from P/N 6886447 to P/N 6871483. The part number is located on the fourth-stage nozzle OD and is applied per AS478-2Dl or 2E. Record compliance with 250-C20B CEB-1064 or 250-B17B TP CEB-1043 in the Turbine Assembly (pink pages) Modification Record, Part III of the Engine Log Book.
