2–1. Overview
This chapter provides the procedures for assigning, using, and controlling MCNs for items that are not cataloged within
the Federal Catalog System (FCS). Details for assigning blocks of MCNs are in AR 708-1, chapter 3. This chapter also
addresses the policy established in AR 708-1, chapter 3.
