CHAPTER 4 DATA ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION This chapter presents the interpretation of the analysis of the system.

It consists of the description of the existing system, data flow diagram of the proposed system alternative solution. Analysis of Existing System The problem was defined by conducting initial observations, interviews and questionnaires as a part of determining initial requirements in conducting the study. Likewise, the functions and processes of the existing system were reviewed and it revealed that the study in developing a new system is feasible. An analysis of the existing system was conducted based on the observation made by the researchers. The analysis was done to present a review of the current manual system. The method used in teaching was done through lecture, reporting, printed documents, visual aids, use of overhead projector, PowerPoint presentation and etc. This kind of teaching method has been used since BUPC was established. After the discussion of a certain topic, the teacher may give a quiz that in a written or oral evaluation. After identifying the systems needs, the researchers designed and programmed the solution system utilizing the input information obtained. As a result, a CAI for PL was developed.

Analysis of the Proposed System The analysis was done to present the review of the proposed system based from the problems met by the students of the existing system. The proposed system is called CAI for PL which caters updated, reliable information about subject. The proposed system revolves under-----. It has a user-friendly and interactive interface and provides a dynamic environment. It consists of four modules or major links namely: -----------------------

Figure 2.0 shows the context diagram of the proposed system wherein the data flow are clearly depicted. The administrator supplies the updates of CAI by supplying username and password and receives feedbacks in a form of comments or messages from users of the site. End users are given individual accounts by supplying their personal profile. In return, end users not only access information about the CAI but also obtain feedbacks or comments coming from. The system runs through XAMMP.

(((((Computer Aided Instruction on stand above (Semi tutorial Computer based Solution) This alternative used a CAI to eliminate some manual work for the teachers CAI does not totally replace the teacher in the teacher in the classroom rather it only assists class discussion in supplementing knowledge because CAI could serve as supplemental material in learning. The role of the teacher is to monitor the performance of the students in and guide them as they go along with the CAI. If there are further classifications about the topic, the teacher gives further explanations regarding the lesson they are taking up. In this alternative the school is required to purchase several computer units based on the population of the students and the software requirements in existing the program efficiently. This also requires used training on how to use and maintain a system ( figure ) Table 1.0 Summary of Hardware and Software Requirements A. Hardware B. Software)))))))

Analysis of the System This study was conceived to help student and instructors upgrade their knowledge and make the teaching and learning process in programming become more effective and interesting

The design system entitled Web- Based Computer Aided Instruction for Principles of Programming will provide the concerned user the necessary information, details on guide that might be needed. This includes videos and lessons on PL. Before you can access the system, the administrator must register first the users. When the administrator finished the registration, the user must remember their username and password. Both the teacher and the students must have an account.

Chapter 5 Summary of Findings, Conclusions and Recommendations

This chapter presents the summary of findings and conclusions and the desired recommendations regarding the proposed Computer Aided Instruction for Principles of Programming Language. Summary This study is primarily aimed to develop Computer Aided Instruction in Principles of Programming Language that will help the students whose taking up the said subject in their learning process. The researchers used the developmental and descriptive method of research in the study. The researchers distributed a questionnaire in evaluating the system which is then answered by 10 Computer Science students in every year level and 3 Programming Language Instructors. The researcher also used the Rapid Application Design by James Martin as the research procedure in the study. Macromedia

Dreamweaver8 and XAMPP1.7.3 are used in the development of the system. Specifically it aimed to answer the following: 1. Gather data and information about Principles of Programming Language.

2. Develop a Computer Aided Instruction for Principles of Programming Language with the following features:

a. Pre- and Post-Test b. Tutorials c. Drills and Exercises 3. Evaluate the effectiveness of the system Findings After the development of Computer Aided Instruction for Principles of Programming Language, the following were found during the conduct of the study: 1. Macromedia Dreamweaver8 and XAMPP 1.7.3 were found applicable for the development of Computer Aided Instructions in Principles of Programming Language. 2. The CAI presented was rated ??? after the evaluation of the system which means that it is highly effective according to the respondents. 3. The respondents coming from instructors rated the CAI ??? on the clarity of instruction and ??? on the effectiveness of the CAI 4. The cost of production was ??? Conclusion

1. The development of CAI was not easy but with the use of knowledge in programming, the development was made possible. 2. The developed CAI was effective in terms of instruction and clarity and highly recommended by faculty and student respondents. 3. The cost of production is minimal and affordable.

Recommendation Based on the analysis and results of evaluation on the study conducted, the researchers came up with the following recommendations that: 1. The Computer Aided Instruction developed can be improved through inclusion of additional simulation to the lesson. 2. The same study can be conducted using other subjects which is also computer related. 3. The voice quality integration is also recommended for further improvements. 4. Updating of lesson Programming Language can be conducted. 5. Students should use CAI as a tool in their learning process. 6. The professor should utilize CAI as an instructional aide in teaching the subject.

Analysis of Existing System The Principle of Programming Language is a subject taught to the students who are taking computer courses. The instructor teaches the students the history including its transition to different languages. The method used in teaching this subject was done through lecture, visual aids, reporting, use of overhead projector, use of PowerPoint presentation and etc. Textbooks and the internet are the references used by the researchers and the students in the discussion of the different topics. After the discussion of a certain topic, the teacher may give a quiz that in a written or oral evaluation.
