Dear People, Have you ever really thought about the answer to the question, Who is Jesus? You cannot be a Christian without confronting this issue. Why do we do all the things that we do in the name of Jesus? Some just think of Jesus as part of their background. They happen to be born into Christian families. Therefore they have Jesus as part of their communal identity. Some like the ritualism of religion. But such people would be open to any ritual or any ceremony, as long as there was enough drama. Back in the 1960s, the Beatles were enchanted by Transcendental Meditation. Sadly, many, like them, will try all the new brands in the supermarket of religion while ignoring the One relegated to the background. Rituals and mantras have never changed people ethically. Ritualists continue to be exploitative and abusive. How can it be any different when their mentors are those who have profited by the brand of religion they market? Jesus, on the other hand, still inspires the most powerful of Christian leaders to give up office and fly off into the sunset. Only Jesus can make a man do that. Maybe that is why the powerbrokers dont want to follow Jesus. Theyre afraid that Jesus will make them do things like giving up their personal agenda and benefits. Theyd much rather have the kind of god who will teach them a new success mantra. What about you? Are you afraid of Jesus? Kuru
