PERSONAL PROFILE
I recently did a MBTI test (Meyers Briggs Type Indicator) and found Im one of those rarest of breeds: the INTP (Introvert, iNtuitive, Thinking, Perceptive - Wikipedia). According to the test INTPs are rational, analytic, visionary, and pragmatic. I would have a long-term focus, have a knack for forming strategies, a voracious appetite for intellectual challenges as well as a broad interest and be very, very quick to spot underlying principles and patterns without getting entangled in irrelevancies. I find that I recognize most if not all of these traits in myself. In my career -so far- Ive always liked the analytic part, have been very apt at uncovering trends and underlying principles and also found that I very much enjoyed telling others about what I had found as well as advising on all the steps that we should take as a consequence. Luckily, I have a way with words; I can explain dauntingly complex ideas to others in the simplest of terms especially in writing.
Within a team I contribute by solving problems, focusing attention on main issues and suggesting ideas that will achieve both our short term as well as long term objectives. Also, Im very comfortable with technology. Im sure you know these people that are so musically talented, they can pick up any musical instrument that was entirely foreign to them -until that very moment-, only to carry a tune on it a mere five minutes later; well, thats me with software.
Looking at how my career in general has shifted from development and implementation of campaigns to the use of information, I feel very comfortable advising on appropriate solutions. My ideal job would be working with equally very, very smart people in all modesty- whether it is in Marketing or Financial Risk Management. Typically, I am at my most productive and effective in a staff function or in the role of an external consultant.
