Almighty Loving Father, the giver and source of everything, I exalt thy Holy name. Father, you have called me into this profession to touch, inspire and mold every student lives; with that Father, may you always strengthen and enlighten me to fulfill my duties well. I believe Father God that every day of my teaching experience is a challenge, but I also believe Father, that you will not let me face that challenge alone. Bless me and all the teachers in the world, that they may always have the heart to care for all learners, and that we may be able to act as their second parents sincerely. May You also bless us with enough knowledge to teach the learners with the right things in life. Protect us Father, so that we would always abide with the laws that are incorporated in the teaching profession, and may we always act accordingly, by mind and by heart, based on the Code of Ethics for teachers. Lastly Almighty Father, may You bless all children in the world that they may all have the opportunity to be educated because without them, our essence as teachers is futile. These are all I pray in the Mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

My Life Story: Journey in Becoming a Teacher

Never was a time in my childhood life that I included being a teacher in my list of dreams and ambitions. I always wanted to become a nurse, a doctor, a company owner, or a chef. All of my childhood toys would speak for those dreams of mine before. Things got twisted when I reached Fourth year high school. Chosen fourth year students were requested to take over classes while teachers were having their teachers day celebration. Incidentally, I was one of the students who will act as an English teacher for the day. The teacher whom I took over was Ms. Franar Gay Dosano. I can still vividly remember the topic she assigned me to teach: Parallelism. I accepted the assignment with nothing but a feeling of okay, lets get this over with. All I thought that time was this was another typical duty to accomplish. I studied the lesson and got myself ready to enter the class assigned to me: third year second section where honestly, most of the mischievous, hard-headed students were situated. I explained the lesson without caring too much if they would understand or not. Whats important to me that time was just to deliver the lesson so that Ms. Franar would not reprimand me for not doing my task. When I was through explaining the lesson, I asked the students if they have any question, and they answered nothing. I then said, Really? Why? Did you understand the lesson? They all answered yes. At first, I thought their answer was just a pretense. Okay, lets see. I called each student, one by one, to answer my questions regarding the topic. I was surprised to discover that they all indeed understood what I was teaching. I was so pleased and felt the magical, rare feeling for the first time. My heart beat became faster. It seems to vaguely express that I found a new love. Wow, I have a future in teaching huh, I exclaimed. That was the start. I certainly found a new love: the love for teaching. That was the start of my realization. I havent known until then how good it is to feel that you have shared knowledge. When I knew that students learned from me, I

felt such different happiness. From then on, I was always yearning to teach. I volunteered as a tutor to elementary students every afternoon with no points or grade incentives, just a mere voluntarism because I just love it. I then told myself that I will take up Education in college. The plan was even made possible when my father suggested over dinner that it would be best if I become a teacher, and I said that I was thinking the same thing too. My father and I have the same line of thought, so maybe its a sign that I am really destined to be a teacher. If my father believes that I will become a good teacher, I should much more believe in myself too. My will got even stronger when he told me that having a teacher in our family was one of my grandmothers dreams. When I told my sister that I wanted to take up Education, she disapproved of it because she was expecting that I will take up Political Science or Accountancy. She even said that I will not have a good life out of being a teacher. She scared me when she said that I will get old faster and will end up being a maiden. Those intimidations of her didnt discourage me; instead, it invigorated and inspired me to prove her wrong, to show her that I am not after the money; I am after the fulfillment that I will acquire from the job that I love. My father is my primary inspiration because he was the one who strengthened me when I was affected by the disapproval of my sister. I chose English as my major because I admire my English teacher in high school: Mrs. Nilda Valmores. I aspire to be like her; beautiful, smart, brave and caring. Now, I am about to reach my dream. Just a few steps more and I will be at the peak of reaching my dreams. I do have even a single feeling of regret tha I have pursued what I really wanted. Each and every day, I turn out to be prouder and prouder of my decision. I believe that this is my fate written by the hands of God and I will not let any hindrances impede me from making my dream of becoming a teacher possible. This is what I think would help me to become a good teacher; my determination and my love for the profession.

My Teaching Philosophy There is learning when there is change, change for a better and brighter future. Learning is an opportunity where we can gain better understanding of the world and grasp values from meaningful experiences. I believe that learning does not just transpire in school solely, whenever and wherever we wanted, we can learn. However, school is one of the great avenues where we can clench knowledge that will furnish and arm us into facing the different challenges of the real world, but school is not enough when there are no persons who will facilitate learning---the TEACHERS. The work and responsibility of being a teacher is noble and I havent regret taking the path that leads to it. I know I have to do my best in this field because what I am holding in my hands are the lives of the future generation. That what makes teaching very challenging, but I am at all times willing to take the challenge. In my four years of education as a student teacher, there are a lot of experiences and inputs that had honed me to become a good teacher in the very near future. I have learned to love the profession though it is undeniably arduous and taxing, but on the other hand, it is also undeniably fulfilling and satisfying most especially when you know that in your hands lie the future of your students, and that you have played a great part in their success. I did not choose this career path just for nothing. I have chosen to take this because of a goal; a goal that when I achieve, will momentously give me the best reward I could ever get in my entire life. I want my students to remember me as someone who had not just inculcated them with merely content knowledge, but knowledge and values that are necessary to become a better individual. I want my students to give out the best in them; their talents, skills, rationalism, and critical thinking. In short, I want my students to be holistically developed. Hence, to achieve these goals, my students should see me as a passionate teacher who love and care for them and who is sincere to my dedication.

That is an essential tool to influence them in loving and appreciating the values of education. The aforementioned philosophies that I have will not be possible without the help of the different factors that I have come across during my entire training in my institution. In here, I have learned different teaching strategies, principles and styles that I could essentially apply in the field of my profession. With that, I am assured that I can be an efficient and an outstanding teacher someday, not merely because I have undergone tedious trainings but because I have etched in my heart that I am born and destined to be a TEACHER.
