Q.2.: I am a Final Year student of DIPLOMA Course. Are Final Year students eligible to apply? Applicants should have completed diploma Course and passed with at least 60% marks as on 01.01.2013 Q.3: Do I have to fill the whole Application in one go? Yes . Q.4: What do I do if I have Submitted wrong details by mistake? No alteration is possible post submission of application form. In case of wrong submission of details in the application form ,the applicants will have to fill up a fresh online application with correct details and also to enclose a fresh D.D (Application fee) once again .No application will be accepted unless the Application fee(D.D) has been attached with reference to that application. Q. 5: Are B.Tech /B.E candidates eligible to apply for Post code 1 or Post code 02? B.E/B.Tech holders are not eligible to apply for the mentioned posts.

Q. 6: Can Diploma or Equivalent in any other trade can apply for Post code 1 /Post code 02? We have several subjects which are common with Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical/ Electronics and Communication Engineering. For the Post Code 01 : Only those holders who possess diploma in Engg - Electrical (EEE)/ Mechanical/ Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) are eligible to apply For the Post Code 02 : Only those holders who possess diploma in Engg- Electrical (EEE)/ Mechanical/ Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Civil are eligible to apply. The word equivalent diploma qualification refers to equivalence for diploma and not for specialization/branch/trade Q.07: Can I apply for more than one post? No, you can apply for one post only. Q.08: Are Diploma Holders eligible to apply for post code :3 ? No. Q.9: Is knowledge of Tamil a mandatory requirement to apply? Yes, knowledge of Tamil language(Read,Write and Speak) is a mandatory requirement to apply for all the posts advertised vide Employment Notification No:CMRl/HR/01/2013 Q.10: Whether equivalent course to ITI are eligible to apply for the post of Technician(Post Code:3) ? Applicant s who possess under mentioned equivalent certificate to ITI are also eligible:National Trade Certificate or National Apprenticeship Certificate or State Trade Certification in specified trade or equivalent certificate issued by NCVT/DG -Employment &Training/Ministry of Labour& Employment/Govt. of India/SCVT. Q.11: I have completed my Diploma in Engg through Part time .Am I eligible to apply? Q.12: I have secured Second class with more than 60 % marks in Diploma course .Am I eligible to apply?

No.Only candidates who have secured First class with more than 60% marks are eligible to apply for post code 01 or post code 2. Q.13: I have completed my diploma post XIIthStandard.Am I Eligible to apply? Yes. The Branch of specialization should be as specified vide employment notification no : CMRl/HR/01/2013.For guidelines to fill up online application form please contact mobile no: 9884855620 on all working days or In the Online application form ,please enter your XIthand XII th standard percentage of marks instead of First semester and Second semester percentage of marks.

Q.14: I am an Ex-serviceman. I am unable to fill the application form as we are not given marks semester wise in Diploma course awarded by Indian Armed forces? The diploma awarded by the Indian Armed forces will be considered ,if supported by necessary document .The consolidated marklist awarded at the end of the course are to be provided in the online application form. Am I eligible to apply for the Posts of Junior Engineer or any other Post in CMRL? As it is clear in CMRL Detailed Advertisement, only those holding qualification (in specified branch, with at least 60% marks) are eligible to apply for post code :01 or 2. Q.16: I have sent my Bio-Data/ CV by email or offline application form to CMRL. Will it be considered? No, you have to necessarily apply online application through cmrl website (www.chennaimetrorail.gov.in). Paper Applications or Offline Application or resume submission through any other mode are NOT accepted. Incase candidates apply offline application form or resume with application fee ,the application fee will be forfeited. Q.17: I forgot to enclose a Copy of Date of Birth proof or Diploma certificate copy or DD or community certificate (Candidates availing relaxation /concession) while forwarding the application form.Will my application be accepted? Printed Application received without any of the supporting documents with regard to date of birth/Diploma/ITI /DD /Community certificate will be summarily rejected. In such cases the candidate will have to resubmit the application form with all the necessary documents.

18. I would like to know the syllabi for the Post code 01 or 02 or 03? The online test will consists of 120 questions for all the post categories. All the questions are objective type. Each question will carry one mark. The question paper consists of two parts:i. Part-A ii. Part-B General Knowledge and Aptitude (Weightage -40%) Relevant Subject Knowledge (Weightage -60%)
