Those who have passed Biology and Biotechnology the qualifying examination before 2 years from the date of announcement of admission are not eligible. Masters degree in Humanities and Social Sciences/ Management Sciences/ Science/ Engineering/ Technology or Masters degree in the allied subjects with consistently good academic record and a minimum of 55% of marks or an equivalent CGPA in the Masters degree. B.E./B.Tech. with an aggregate of 80% marks or equivalent CGPA with valid GATE score. A fellowship in Chartered Accountancy/ Company Secretaryship from a recognized Indian or foreign institution with not less than 60% marks or equivalent CGPA having a minimum of a Bachelors degree. Provisional Admission: Candidates who have appeared/are appearing in the qualifying examination in 2013 can also apply. They will be admitted provisionally if otherwise found eligible at the entrance examination. The candidates appearing in the qualifying examination must complete their qualifying examinations in all respects by the date of admission. Such candidates if selected for admission will have to produce the evidence of completion of the examinations on the day of admission. If admitted such candidates will be required to submit the evidence of passing the qualifying examination fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria by 15th November, 2013.

Selection: (i) B. Tech. Programme - on the basis of performance in the JEE ( main) conducted by the CBSE to be held on 07.04.2013( pen and paper based) and 8th 25th April, 2013 ( computer based). Approximately 50% of the seats will be filled in through the Central Counseling conducted by the CBSE. For this no separate application will be required. Remaining seats will be filled in by the candidates of NE states. The candidates of NE states qualifying in the JEE ( main) should apply to this university for admission against the seats reserved for NE domicile candidates for which counselling will be held at Tezpur University. Candidates from NE states securing any of the top 10 positions in the higher secondary Board/ Council Examination with an aggregate marks of 85% or more will be directly admitted in the discipline of his/her choice. (ii) Integrated M. Sc. and Integrated B.Sc.B.Ed.( Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics major in B.Sc.) Programmes - Selection of candidates for these programmes will be on the basis of the common entrance examination of the particular Department. (iii) Integrated M.A. in English and Integrated B.A.B.Ed. Programmes (English Major in B.A.)- Selection of candidates for these two programmes will be on the basis of the common entrance examination of the Department of English and Foreign Languages. (iv) PG Degree, Diploma and Certificate programme on the basis of performance in the Entrance Examination conducted by Tezpur University. However, for some programmes such as M. Sc. in MBBT, Integrated M. Tech. in Food Engineering & Technology, MA in Mass Communication and Journalism, MA in English and P.G. Diploma in Mobile & Multimedia Communication, P.G. Diploma in Tourism Management Group Discussion and/or interview may also be conducted. GATE qualified candidates with valid GATE score in the relevant subjects may seek for Direct Admission without Entrance Examination in the M. Tech. in Information Technology, Electronics Design & Technology, Bioelectronics and Energy Technology , provided they meet the cut off score. (iii) Ph.D. programme on the basis of written test and personal interview conducted by the Departments. List of the candidates short listed for written test and personal interview will be displayed on the TU website. No call letter will be issued separately. Reservation and relaxation of marks: As per the Govt. of India rules. In cases of M. Tech. programmes in Information Technology, Energy Technology, Electronics Design & Technology, Bioelectronics and PG Diploma in Mobile and Multimedia Communication some seats are reserved for sponsored candidates. However, they have to qualify Tezpur University Entrance Examination 2013. Self Supported Scheme (SSS): Tezpur University has a provision for SSS. Only the left over of the waitlisted candidates shall be eligible with additional fees not exceeding 5 times of the normal fees. How to apply TU application form along with the prospectus can be obtained (i) from the designated branches of PUNJAB NATIONAL BANK by paying Rs.510/- (Rs.260/- for SC/ST) or (ii) by sending a request to the Controller of Examination, T.U. with a demand draft of Rs.560/(Rs.310/- for SC/ST) in favour of the Registrar, Tezpur University, payable at Tezpur, with a self addressed unstamped envelope of 36 cm x 25 cm., or (iii) downloading the application forms from the website (www.tezu.ernet.in). Downloaded application forms should be accompanied by a draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, Tezpur University payable at Tezpur for Rs 500/ ( Rs 250/- for SC/ST). Candidates applying for more than one programme should apply separately for each programme. However, candidates applying for Integrated M.Sc./ Integrated B.Sc.B.Ed programme under a particular Department need not apply in separate application form. Similarly, for Integrated MA/ Integrated B.A.B.Ed. (English major in BA) programme candidate needs to apply in a single application form.
