Goal:Ourgoalwithintheselessonsistofostercriticalthinking.Weknowthatinthirdgradeour studentsarenotdevelopmentallyabletofullycomprehendandcriticallyexaminewebsitesaswe wouldlikethemto.However,wewouldliketoprovidestudentsopportunitiestobeexposed differentcontentontheInternetsothatcanbegintoaskquestions.Ifwecangetouryounger studentstobegintothinkaboutinformationandhavemeaningfuldiscussion,weareontheright track.Theideabehindtheselessonsistomakeconnectionswithpriorknowledgestudentshave fromtheirreadinginstructioninprimarygrades.Determiningfictionvs.nonfictionandAuthors PurposearetwoobjectivesthathavealreadybeentaughttostudentsasearlyasKindergarten.
