In 2011, we became the first Peruvian university to earn accreditation from AACSB International for both our undergraduate and graduate programs. This places us among the leading universities and business schools in the world.

When aacsb international one of the most important university and business school accreditors in the world granted the universidad del pacfico accreditation, it emphasized our demanding academic environment, commitment to ongoing improvement, excellent international contact networks and a curriculum that is responsive to the needs of the business community. We are very proud to be the first university in peru to earn this important distinction for both our Undergraduate and Graduate schools. This recognition encourages and motivates our efforts to pursue continuous improvement and permanent innovation. Less than 5% of all universities and business schools in the world are accredited by AACSB. Some noteworthy examples of other academic institutions in Latin America that have earned this accreditation include: iaE business school, fundacin Getulio vargas, incaE, universidad de los andes, pontificia universidad catlica de chile, and the instituto tecnolgico y de Estudios superiores de Monterrey. InFoRMAtIon EngInEERIng This new degree program fills a void by training engineers to manage information that has strategic value in the short, medium and long term. Students apply analytical skills and business intelligence to all the information available within organizations and apply innovative approaches and technology to solve problems and obtain high-value results. IntERnAtIonAL BuSInESS The increasing development of new global markets is creating a need for professional leaders who have the solid multi-disciplinary background needed to meet the challenges of global trade. This is an innovative program that promotes the competencies and skills necessary to engage in business while taking into account economic, political, social and cultural perspectives. International Business professionals will consolidate Perus position in a borderless economy. LAw The UPs Law program transcends legal spheres: in addition to providing a solid legal and humanistic education, the program offers students the opportunity to develop complementary skills in economics, administration and accounting. MARkEtIng The Marketing program prepares professionals to design solid and reliable marketing plans based on scientific knowledge. Analysis of the needs of local and global markets is emphasized and there is a focus on technological, economic and cultural trends. This academy provides the knowledge required for students to meet the challenge of being admitted to the University and helps them adapt successfully to UPs demanding academic life.
We strive to provide our students with the tools necessary to achieve optimum levels in mathematics and language. At the same time, we strengthen two fundamental areas in order to help our students successfully face the academic challenges of the university: math comprehension, and reasoning and reading comprehension. Students can obtain direct admission to the Universidad del Pacfico if they pass each subject with a minimum score of 55% of the maximum possible score and accumulate a minimum of 600 points of the total possible maximum score (1000 points).

ACCountIng UP accountants analyze and strategically manage financial, economic, tax, and cost information to make decisions at the highest levels of management in public and private institutions. Our graduates have a solid background in the accounting sciences and finance and possess the business knowledge essential for a comprehensive and analytical grasp of complex situations. This allows them to have a profound understanding of their environment and to create value for their organizations through on-target actions. We are pioneers in Peru in English language instruction for business and the use of technological resources in the teaching process. The first English program for executives on the Peruvian market was designed and taught by our Language Center in 1990. Our specialized experience with more than 500 companies has allowed us to design a successful methodology that links work activities to teaching content.
the Goal achievement system, perfected during our over than 20 years of experience, uses the participants work experiences as the central core of course activities. From the first day of classes, small, homogenous groups receive targeted training to develop the communication skills they need to ensure successful job performance. this methodology is complemented by the use of multimedia laboratories and the blackboard educational platform. In addition to offering more than 20 specialized English courses and the opportunity for in-house classes at business offices, we offer courses in Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, Italian, French, German as well as Spanish for foreigners.

Our Tinkuypata International Center in Cuzco offers foreign students the opportunity to study in a unique historical and archaeological location. They obtain authentic intercultural experiences as well as credits that can be accepted by their home academic institutions.
We offer 4 week summer semesters and travel seminars lasting 2 to 5 weeks. The seminars include visits to companies, government institutions and various nGOs. Students can choose elective courses taught in Spanish or English, as well as a Spanish as a second language course. These courses are for undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in learning more about business and culture in Latin-America and Peru. The Summer in Cusco has three tracks, one in Business, and the other ones in Peruvian Culture and Community Outreach. All of them include access to extra-curricular activities, such as Quechua lessons and Andean music workshops. Travel Seminars examine current issues related to labor problems, inflation, dollarization, poverty, microbusinesses, agribusiness, and exports. We guarantee the academic content of our courses and provide an official transcript at the end of each program. The center in Cuzco has an onsite coordinator who ensures that students have everything they need to study effectively and provides any guidance they may need.

In a world that is diverse and ever more connected, the Research Center contributes to the development and democratization of Peru through rigorous and ethical investigation of national and international realities by participating in public debate and public policy formation and through the education of leaders who have a vocation for excellence and social responsibility. Many of our researchers are also full-time professors at the university. We also have a growing number of part-time professors, associate researchers and student assistants.

Our publications have a common denominator: a permanent commitment to academic study and research focused on the problems and opportunities that exist in our country. We strive to promote an exchange of ideas among diverse ideological perspectives, strengthen the scientific community, promote new studies in areas that have been under-researched, and improve the quality of higher education. puBLIShIngS Although our Publishing Center was created in 1992, the Universidad del Pacfico has been publishing books and encouraging research since its founding. Currently, in addition to books, the university has other publishing specialties: working documents, university Library,study notes, the Apuntes journal, the Punto de Equilibrio magazine, and conference papers. the thematic areas in which we specialize are business administration and marketing, social sciences and history, accounting and finance, law, economics and economic policy, ethics and theology, linguistics and literature, quantitative methods, small and medium-sized businesses, social policies and social responsibility.

We conduct theoretical and applied research aimed at expanding knowledge and offering practical solutions on issues related to our main research areas. Our research is supported by the University itself, and by numerous national and international foundations and public and private sector entities. This is an inter-university network dedicated to developing links between the Universidad del Pacfico and national universities across the country in order to contribute to improving the quality of teaching and academic management. since 1987, piE has promoted a modern and up-todate perspective on pedagogy and research in economics and business at national universities. Over the last 20 years, we have trained close to 900 professors from public universities in different regions of Peru.

The purpose of the UP Solidarity Fund is to support low income youth who have high academic potential. we provide loans to finance the professional careers of students for 5 years of study. the loans must be paid back once the student graduates and successfully enters the job market. The UP Solidarity Fund provides a real opportunity to change the futures of many young people who are very good students, proactive, and have the potential to become leaders by providing them with access to a quality education.

Thanks to the Community Outreach course, students have the chance to advise peruvian microentrepreneurs, helping them to organize their businesses and optimize their marketing plans. This course provides first-hand contact with the informal economy in developing countries such as Peru and gives students an opportunity to observe the functioning of small and medium-sized businesses. This type of experience has been shown to be highly valuable, even for our exchange students.

studEnt ExchanGEs
We have more than 100 agreements for student exchanges with institutions in Europe and north america. Our students can spend one academic semester abroad. Generally, participants pay tuition at their home universities but are responsible for paying their plane fares, lodging, food, personal expenses, health insurance, books and other study materials. Through the Office of International Relations (ORI), students can validate the credits obtained at the host university. On average, 100 to 200 students participate in these exchanges each year.

Foreign students who want to study at UP have the option of coming for a semester or a year and can obtain credits for the courses they complete satisfactorily. at the end of their studies at up, foreign students receive an official transcript that they can use to earn credits at their home universities. no formal agreement between institutions is required.
