Welcome to Worship
elcome to New Hope Church, now into our third century serving God! If you are visiting, you will discover a loving, spirit-filled church family. Here is some helpful information as you join us in worship today: All who worship here are equals in the sight of God, regardless of race, age, gender, physical disability or religious affiliation. Communion, when celebrated, is open to all who profess Christ as Lord and Savior, whether affiliated with this church or not. Children may partake of Communion as well, if parents approve. A nursery is available during the service; please see a greeter for directions. (This is for infants and children up to 3 years of age.) Handicap-accessible restrooms are located off the narthex (main foyer) and adjacent to the entrance lobby in the Fellowship Hall/Gym. Please complete the tear-off attendance slip attached to the bulletin and drop it in the offering plate so we will have a record of your visit with us today. Thank you for remembering to silence your cell phone during the service. We ask that there be no food or beverages in the sanctuary, please. If you arrived as a visitor we hope that you leave as a friend and worship with us often! New Hope Church exists to: Glorify God in worship and rejoice in our life together; Share the Good News of the Gospel in word and deed; Reach as many as we can with the saving love of Jesus; Help each person grow toward Christian maturity, and find their place of service in the church and in the world.

Community Easter Egg Hunt will be Saturday March 30 at 12:00 noon. We are asking folks to please bring wrapped candy and eggs to the church over the next couple of Sundays for the kids to hunt. This is a community event, so we need lots of stuff. Thanks! Easter is Sunday March 31. We will have the Easter morning schedule for you after the Session meeting this Tuesday. Christian Beginners is a new class for young children ages 1-2. It meets every Sunday morning in the Nursery at 9:00 for singing, fun, and learning. The New Hope Food Pantry Canned goods, non-perishables and dry goods work best. We can use cereals, if we can get them turned out quickly. Take whatever you bring to the kitchen. Please see Evelyn Price or the Pastor if you know anyone inside or outside the church that has a need. Stephen Ministry - Got a burden? You dont have to carry that burden alone. You can have a STEPHEN MINISTER who will spend time with you, listen to you, and walk beside you. If you or someone you know are interested in receiving care through the Stephen Ministry program at New Hope, please contact the pastor through the Church office at (615) 449-7020 and request that a Stephen minister contact you.

The pattern of the prodigal is: rebellion, ruin, repentance, reconciliation, restoration.

Ministries/Activities Within Our Church

The Church Session will meet this Tuesday evening at 6:30 here at the church. Any visitors are welcome to sit in on the meeting. It is time to get in your Easter Lily orders. We are doing this over the next three Sundays leading up to Holy Week. Please fill out the portion of the tearoff part of the bulletin and drop it in the offering plate as it comes around. There will be a Workday here at the church to prepare for Easter next Saturday, March 16 starting at 8:00 a.m. (a few will probably get here earlier). The rain date is the following Saturday, March 23. Palm Sunday is March 24, the start of Holy Week. We want as many children as possible to be here to participate in the Procession of the Palms during the Childrens Time. This is where the children get to march around the church waving palm branches yelling Hosanna! Good Friday Service of Darkness will be March 29 at 7:15 PM. This is the service where we remember Christs passion and death on the cross. We leave the church in total darkness. A very somber and moving worship experience.

Thought for the Week

he Fathers reaction to the prodigal son and his elder son mirrors the answer Abraham Lincoln gave to a question he was asked about how he would treat all the Confederate soldiers once the Civil War was over. Expecting vengeance and even thoughts of execution because of treason, Lincoln surprised all of them by saying I will treat them as if they had never been away.
