MET 306 Activity 3c Creating a Surface from Multiple Datum Curves Level 10 PTC has decided to not include

any Freeform surfacing tutorials for N sided surfacing starting with Creo 2.0. You might note that the LMS assignment uses Creo 1.0 instructions. Surfacing Using Creo Parametric Additional Boundary Surfaces Creating N Sided Surfaces. Produce the following screen capture. You will not have the watermark.

Consumer products are usually comprised of highly contoured 3-D surfaces. The goal of this portion of the exercise is to investigate how to build such a surface from multiple datum curve geometry, similar to what is shown below.

Five Sketched Curves are REQUIRED in the model tree

The first item you need to know is that all the defining the edges of the surface are connected to each other (aligned). In addition, there is one curve (spline) sketched on the Frontal plane, and the other four curves are sketched on the Horizontal plane. Use Insert - Model Datum Sketch.

MET 306 Activity 3c You will need to refer to the on line help to aid you in learning how to create such geometry. Hint : Creo Parametric Surfacing; Technical Surfacing. Tip: Creating an N-Sided Surface (do a search on this) The N sided command is NOT in the ribbon (use the command search box to find it) Also look at the Tip on creating N sided surfaces. Please note that no boundary conditions need to be defined (nor can they be defined).

CURVES

Alt-Print Screen an image similar to the one in the center of page 1 to document your success at this level showing the part and the model tree. Note: Your model tree will list Sketches rather than Curves. Documentation for Level 10 will consist of a single page showing a screen capture of the LMS N-Sided surface procedure and the N sided surface exercise. End Level 10 Required documentation (11 pages with sheet order): Cover Sheet Level 7: Screen capture, LMS Extrude, Revolve, Fill procedures (color) Screen capture, LMS Trim with Geometry, Trim with Quilt, Merge Surfaces (color) Screen capture, LMS Solidifying Quilts. (color) Screen capture, 6 images (block with dome) (color) Info Model print Level 8.5: Screen capture, LMS Solidifying Quilts and shelled cover (color) Detail drawing showing sectional views (monochrome) Info - Model print
