Skills Summary
I am currently a third year graphic design student, at Leeds College of Art, working on my final major project. My design practice has a focus on image design, working with type and image, hand drawn or digital illustration and pattern design. My work is predominately produced for print and so the final presentation of a piece, including the use of print finishes, is an important aspect of my design. The work I create and apply my imagery to has a strong focus on branding, as well as product and packaging. As well as my love for print, I am also interested in website design. I am well organised, enthusiastic, determined and reliable. I am driven by problem solving and creating interesting, innovative concepts to make my work stand out. I also enjoy reading magazines such as Computer Arts, lo oking at design inspiration blogs, and especially like visiting exhibitions, such as D&AD New Blo od and New Designers.

M&S
Product & Packaging
For my response to the YCN Marks and Spencers Perfect Picnic brief, I created Alice in Wonderland inspired picnic packaging, aimed at a family audience. The Mad Tea Party featured memorable quotes from the story, inspired illustrations and a menu taken from fo ods eaten in the bo ok, complete with a hand-rendered font I designed to suit the theme. The products included in the picnic box were: drink me bottles; eat me cake; Queens tarts; marmalade and a mini bo oklet.

Peacocks
Retail & Promotion
These are examples of the methods of promotion that were created for the YCN Peacocks brief, where I worked in collaboration with another Graphic Designer. We focused on celebrating the Pearl Lowe for Peacocks range, and combined this with the re-launch of the brand, after their fall in to administration. We added a sophisticated tone of voice to suit the fashion conscious young female target audience. A website, blog, newsletter, clothing labels, advertisements and an invitation for a relaunch party were created, for which we received a commendation award.

UK Greetings
Product & Packaging
I have created a range of contemporary card designs, with a focus on hand drawn typography, for the UK Greetings competition. The cards are fun, playful, and unique, to set the cards apart from the competitors cards, and appeal to a young female target audience. The range has been extended so that the designs are suitable for a number of relevant products, including postcards, badges and a gift wrapping range. Each product contains a mixture of hand applied glitter and foil finish, in red and gold colours.

Stationery
Product Design
The stationery products, with the theme of the internet, will make the customer consider life before it, while at the same time, celebrating its existence. The products could be sold in the National Media Museum gift shop, to co-incide with their Life Online exhibition. I have created icons of internet actions, as well as items of technology that use the internet. The theme of the designs is subtle humour, as each product contains a pun, where a new meaning is given to an action or object relating to the internet.

Craft & Design

Branding & Identity
I have created a re-brand for the existing Manchester Craft and Design centre, and applied this branding to a range of printed media to show both how the branding works as business stationery but also to show how the branding can work to help promote the centre. The use of textures is a key theme in the promotional designs. Each texture featured represents a different craft that the designers specialise in. A sophisticated tone of voice used throughout represents the quality of work sold at the centre.
