FUNCTION A. Site Administrator

RESPONSIBILITIES Located near the Emergency Assembly Area (EAA) and the Reunion Gate, rotates to the First Aid Area (FAA) 1. Accounts for the presence of all. 2. Implements and coordinates the Emergency operations. 3. Controls internal and external communications. 4. Prepares reports for District Emergency Command Center.

EQUIPMENT/SUPPLIES Take: 1. Master keys - rescue team 2. Walkie-Talkie 3. Cell Phone

B. Disaster Coordinators 1. Michelle Outwater 2. Brenda Chen 3. Carol Pacheco talkie.

Located between classrooms and Emergency Assembly Area 1. Ensures that all routes are clear to the EAA and FAA. 2. Assists in the evacuation of classes to their assigned areas. 3. Accounts for all staff. 4. Collect class roll sheets and emergency release forms. Take to Reunion Team. 5. Accounts for presence of all. 6. Give list of missing persons to Search and Rescue Team. 7. Monitor Search and Rescue and EAA. 8. Oversee food distribution.

FUNCTION C. Emergency Assembly Area Team (EAA)

PERSONNEL Classroom Teachers

RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities of individual teachers 1. Inform all students that if an emergency occurs during snack or lunch, they are to drop/hold/cover and then report to their assigned classroom spot on the field. 2. DROP AND HOLD, or if in an open area, DROP AND COVER. 3. Ascertain the extent of injuries and capabilities for evacuation. 4. Assess student injuries. If a student is critical, remain with student but send other students to EAA with another adult if present in class. Otherwise, evacuate and Search & Rescue will return for the injured. 5. Evacuate classroom and leave door OPEN. 6. Take roll and be ready to report class status to disaster coordinators. 7. Put labels on evacuated students. 8. Supervise and reassure students throughout the emergency. 9. Ensure that all students remain in class lines until buddy classes have regrouped. Wait for directions before dismissing students to Reunion Gate. 10. Take care of all minor first aid needs.

D. Search and Rescue

1. Get master key from principal. 2. Proceed in orderly, pre-established sweep pattern, checking each classroom, storage room, etc., VISUALLY and VOCALLY. 3. Report the location of all injured students and staff to First Aid Team, Site Coordinator and Disaster Coordinator. 4. Place an X with tape on all doors of rooms checked and found to be empty. 6. Report hazardous areas to coordinators. 7. PRIORITIZE list of injuries to transport to the First Aid Area. Distribute the Assessment forms as follows: Top copy to Principal, 2nd copy to First Aid Team, and keep 3rd copy with the injured. 8. Return for injured. If bodies have no vital signs, leave them (Bodies will be moved to the morgue area after all injured have been transported first.)

1. Lock all external gates and secure school ASAP. 2. Post signs at gates telling procedures for reunion. 3. Close gas lines and water if necessary. 4. Get supplies from container to Medical/ First Aid Area/ EAA. 5. Route fire and rescue ambulance and police to area of need. 6. Close electrical lines in cafeteria. 7. Report to Reunion Gate to greet parents.

Take: 1. Master keys and signs to post. 2. Map of school with utility locations. 3. Walkie-Talkie 4. Supply bottle water with cups when directed by Disaster Coordinators. 5. Get emergency barrels and take to EAA.

F. Campus Safety Team

1. Check utilities and take appropriate action to minimize damage to school site. 2. Determine resources that are available for immediate school use: water. food, power, radio, telephones, and sanitary conditions. 3. Survey and report to SA the extent of damage to school site. 4. Set up tarps and student restroom areas. 5. Control traffic on Jacob Ave. in front of school and parking lot.

RESPONSIBILITIES

EQUIPMENT/SUPPLIES Take: 1. Student health information cards, class rosters, paper and tape 2. Radio and walkie-talkie 3. First Aid Kit 4. Student medications 5. Copy of all class pictures 6. File folders for each room

1. Follow Disaster Communication procedures. 2. Check with the DC for roll sheets and student release forms. 3. After attendance is taken and Search and Rescue is completed, immediately begin to reunite students with their parents. 4. Dispatch student runners to get the student and escort them to Reunion Gate. 5. Attach emergency release form to back of health information card as student is released. REUNION GATE IMPORTANT NOTES: 1. Ensure student is released only to those authorized on the release forms. Confirm that the student recognizes the requesting individual and feels secure in his/her custody by asking the child.***** 2. Have parent/guardian/responsible adult listed on the form sign out students as they are released. 3. File Student Release Forms alphabetically to keep record of who has been released. ***** Ask these Questions: Do you know this person? Are you comfortable leaving with them? Updated 2/14/13

Notify Principal of students in the first aid area and in crisis area.
