2. Description. he Thompson submach gun, eal. 45,
MI928A1 (figs. 1 and 2), is an nircooled, blowback-operated, maga-
zine-fed weapon. It is designed to be fired from the shoulder of
the gunner similarly to @ rifle, and is used as an auxiliary weapon by
the United States Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. The fire contral
lever of the gun can be set for either ful] automatic or seminutomatic
