Catalyst Report
Complaint Description
Description I have been harassed by Getty Images for the past year for an image that appeared on my company's web site. Gettty Images is attempting to extort $1,486 for an image that we found on the internet which contained no copyright notice. We removed the image immediately when we were first notified and before we found out about the scam. Apparently Getty Images has been involved in an extortion scheme for quite some time, yet they are allowed to continue this from within your borders. I would like to know why this is allowed to continue. Is it not illegal to attempt to extort money via our postal system? Should I report this to the US Attorney General? Expected resolution details: This company should be fined and shut down.
