2.4 Get and check the software package

Step 1 According to the chapter 1.3, check the software package date and the file size.
Step 2 Copy the dload folder to SD card, after copying, the directory is /sdcard/dload/UPDATA.APP

Upgrade operations

3.1 Baseline Version Upgrade

3.1.1 Method 1(normal upgrade):
Step 1 Prepare the SD card.

You are advised to use the SD card whose capacity is 512MB or more.

You are advised to use Sandisk, Kingstone, and Kingmax SD cards.

Otherwise, exceptions may occur during the upgrade.
Step 2 Format the SD card to ensure its normal use (optional).
Step 3 Connect the UE to the PC and set the UE to USB disk mode.
Step 4 Copy the UPDATA.APP installation package to the dload folder in the SD root directory.
Step 5 Insert the SD card into the UE to be upgraded.
Step 6 Press *#*#2846579#*#* to enter the test mode. Select ProjectMenu-> upgrade->SD card
upgrade, conformation interface will appear and confirm it.
Step 7 Wait until the upgrade is complete.
The upgrade takes about one minute. After the upgrade is complete, you need to restart the
phone manually.
Notice:
To check whether the upgrade is successful through check whether the app version
information is correct, press *#*#2846579#*#* and then select ProjectMenu-> veneer
information query -> S/H version query.

3.1.2 Method 2(force upgrade):

Step 6 Please make sure the UE is power-off.
Step 7 Press the keys of Volume+, Volume- and Power at the same time until the screen turn to
pink.
Step 8 Wait until the upgrade is complete.
The upgrade takes about 5 minutes. After the upgrade is complete, you need to restart the
phone manually.
Notice:
To check whether the upgrade is successful through check whether the app version

Step 4 Copy the apk package to the SD root directory.
Step 5 Insert the SD card into the UE to be upgraded.
Step 6 If PHU installed in your UE, please uninstall the PHU. Select Setting ->Applications ->
Manage applications, find out and click the GENEX PHU, and then click the Uninstall.
Remove the PHU from your phone.

Step 7 Select File Manager, and then enter the sdcard catalog, find out and double-click
GENEX_PHU_V1R5.apk.
Step 8 Open the PHU and then click MENU to check whether the PHU installation is OK.

3.3 License Upgrade

If Baseline Version is not 1290, you need to upgrade the license.
Step 1 Press *#*#2846579#*#* and then select ProjectMenu-> 3.Background setting>9.PHUbackground setting.
Step 2 SelectPHU open, then click Confirm.
Step 3 Enter the License Code, then click Confirm.
Step 4 Then restart the UE.

3.4 Error 1
During SD card upgrade, the key pad led flash very frequently (two flashes per second), and
the progress bar stop, that means an error occurs. Check whether there is a miss-operation.
You can change another phone or SD card to do the test. You can also consult the contact
person if necessary
