HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK NETWORKING LUNCHEON 2013 Attending Professionals: Dr Sarah Bottjer Dr, Bottjer is a professor of Systems Neuroscience and is an expert in the fields of behavior, learning and memory. Her ongoing research in developmental neuroscience involves the study of neural development in songbirds. Dr. Kenneth Geller Dr. Geller is the head of pre-health advising at USC. He has been named the Vice Chair of Surgery at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and is the head of the division of Otolaryngology. Nivvy Hundal Nivvy Hundal is the Program manager at the USC institute of Global Health. Dr. Robert Baker Dr. Baker is a professor of Molecular Biology at USC. His research in molecular biology focuses on the mechanisms of modifications of protein monomers and how such modifications results in disease states, such as cancer. Dr. Jessica Parr Dr. Parr is an assistant professor of teaching in the department of Chemistry at USC. Her research interests include the study of the photodissociation dynamics of hydrogen-bonded complexes. Dr. Michael Jakowec Dr. Jakowec is an assistant professor of Neurology and Biokinesiology and Physical therapy at USC. His research focuses on animal models of Parkinsons disease and the development of new therapies for the disease. He has recently served as a co-investigator on a USC Army study of neurotoxicity. Dr. David Baron Dr. David baron is a professor of Clinical Medicine in the department of psychiatry and the behavioral sciences at USC. His areas of expertise include Sports Psychiatry, ADHD, and depression in athletes. Dr. Ricky Blunthenal Dr. Bluthenals research interests include HIV prevention for injection drug users and gay and bisexual men, alcohol and drug use epidemiology, social health disparities, as well as community influences on health risks and outcomes. Dr. Carol Koprowski Dr. Koprowskis research focuses on the topics of diet and nutrition, in particular the relationship between diet and physical activity among adolescent girls. She also studies proper nutrition for dialysis patients and those with diabetes. Dr. Genevieve Dunton Dr. Duntons research considers how policy, community, neighborhood, and school contexts can influence physical activity and diet. The objectives of her research are to understand the etiology of health behaviors related to cancer risk in children and adults. Dr. Adam Leventhal

Dr. Leventhal is a clinical psychologist and the Associate Professor of Preventative Medicine. he is the principle investigator of HEAL Research, a research lab that focuses on bio-behavioral studies of substance abuse addiction. Dr. Jan Leibler Dr. Leibler is a USC lung transplant surgeon attending. He is also involved in research within the fields of cancer and pulmonary medicine. Dr. Mike SIlka Dr. Silka is a practicing physician at the Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles. He is a pediatric cardiovascular surgeon and an attending cardiologist. Dr. Jim Adams Dr. Adams is an expert in the field of traditional healing methods. His interests extend especially to the healing properties of local American plants. Kim Eggleston-Morris Kim is an occupational therapist who has worked at a clinical practice in pediatrics at the Center for Developing Kids, a private sensory integration clinic located in Pasadena, California. Kim currently teaches for the Minor in Occupational Science program Dr. Joel Milam Dr. Milam is an assistant professor of research in the field of Preventative Medicine, He is an expert in the field of health behavior research, teaching courses on the psychosocial factors that contribute to both mental and physical wellbeing. Dr. MaryAnn Bohland-Matveyenko Dr. Bohland-Matveyenko is an expert in the fields of integrative and evolutionary biology. She is the Laboratory director for Human and Evolutionary Biology at USC and specializes in the field of stress management.
