Tanks

Details of the ground tanks used for the collection of the wastewater where are they located and what is
their design are they septic tanks and as mentioned in section 2.2.3 of the 1st quarter environment report
for 2012, is all the wastewater drained into one tank is there an analysis of this wastewater ? where
does the contractor dispose the water to ? are the tanks desludged occasionally also ?

Fuel is coming from ARAMCO through tanker, unloaded by 10 points of fuel pump to a under ground fuel
tank and from this intermediate fuel tank, distributed to different above ground tanks through

What is the source for the potable water on the property?

There are 2 ground wells in plant for intake of RO treatment facility, 1 another well is outside far away from
compound for uses of domestic cleaning and wash room in the offices.

Sewage Disposal System

Where is the sanitary sewage discharged?

There are individual RCC tanks at different locations to collect sanitary sewage discharge from different
sources (offices) and regularly empty by tankers through contractors.

Liquid Waste

environmental report for 2012

Sewage 8tons per day - this seems a lot but needs to be verified against the total number of staff

Water and oil 0.5 tons per day where does this go?

It is confirmed. Total No of Staff is 215. But this 8 ton sewage water includes floor wash and general______
cleaning from the offices area also. Oil mix water and another liquid waste being taken by contractors. One
contractors name is BAFEL______________________________________________________________


Cooling water 10tons per day is this recycled or is it a once through system ? where does this get
disposed ?

It is recycled and replace after 6-8 months after inspection. This rejected cooling water is discharge into the
tank of oil mix waste water._____________________________________________________________


Return oil 6 tons is this per day or per year? 6 tons per quarter or 2 tons/month

Liquid fuel waste 296 tons please can we confirm if this is per day or per month etc what is the
specification of this waste and where does this get disposed and how ?

This is 296 tons quarterly i.e. for 3 months. Any test report not available.__________________________


Others ( distilled water with small portion of diesel ) as above comment please can we confirm where this
is produced from and how and where it is disposed

This is from fuel treatment system and compressor wash. This is collected at under ground sumps and
taken out by contractor BAFEL.________________________________________________________


Solid waste generation

Please can we confirm what is the quantity of any carbonic ash and how frequent it is disposed and how ?

It is mentioned that 2000 kg of spare parts are disposed as solid waste Please confirm

Time to time sold by auction to the scrap dealer.

Fuel Filtration

Details of the fuel treatment station eg what is this (as mentioned in the environmental register description
of the plant for 1st quarter 2012 ? what are the residues from the 6 fuel filtration units and where is it
disposed to ?

It is a desulfurization / cleaning process. Reject is collected into the underground tank as oil mix waste
water and taken out by contractor BAFEL time to time._______________________________________

Fuel Specification
For the air analysis which has been reported in the 1st quarterly environment report for 2012 in 30/1/2012
and 28/2/2012 it is mentioned there is 0 ppm of SO2 for GT26, GT27, GT28 and GT29 Please can you
confirm this and can you please provide the specifications of the fuel ( both before and after the fuel
treatment units )
Is there analysis of the stacks from the older units?

Training
The 1st quarter environmental report mentions in section 3-3 mentions two engineers and two technicians
were trained at Abha Environmental Training center can we have the details of these courses and are
these nominated staff who will have responsibility in the organisation structure of the site for
implementation of the EMP and EMS for the site ?

SEC is starting to introduce to its staff the importance of environmental management, the in-house
awareness course is for ISO 14001 compliance. However, it is not clear if anyone is responsible for the
environmental implementation yet.
