A teacher is interested in what outside of the classroom activities significantly impact over course percentages in her classes. Specifically, she is interested in review sessions and extra credit. A two-way between-factors ANOVA was conducted on their report. Results indicated a significant main effect for activities (F(1, 16) = 39.14 , p<.01) indicating that those that attended the review session (M = 88.40, SD = 6.35) had better percentage than those who did not attend the review session (M= 77.20, SD= 10.88) . The significant main effect for extra credit (F(1,16) = 66.51 , p<.01) indicated that those who did extra credit had a higher percentage (M = 90.10, SD = 4.75) than those who did not do extra credit (M = 75.50 , SD = 9.35). The significant interaction (F (1,16) = 6.60, p<.05) between activities and extra credit suggests that those who did not attend review sessions have lower percentages than those who did attend, even if they did the extra credit. That is, those who did attend the review session had a higher percentage than those who did the extra credit, but did not attend the review session.
