Narrator: Welcome to our puppet show! Today we are going to be presenting to you about David and Goliath. It can be found in the bible verse: 1 Samuel 17. This story of David and Goliath happen long before Jesus was born. The land of Sokoh Judah is where this story happens. The two armies the Philistines and the Israelites gathered their forces for war. Israelites were led by Saul, the king. They camp on different hills, facing each other. The Philistines has a champion named goliath (now goliath comes out on the stage), who was six cubits and a span tall. He had a bronze helmet on his head and wore a coat of scale armor of bronze weighing five thousands shekels; on his legs he wore bronze greaves, and a bronze javelin was slung on his back. His spear shaft like a weavers rod, and its iron point weighed sic hundred shekels. His shield bearer went ahead of him. He stood and shouted to the Israelites. Goliath: Why do you come out and line up for battle? Am I not a Philistine, and are you not the servants of Saul? Choose a man and have him come down to me. If he is able to fight and kill me, we will become your subjects, but if I overcome him and kill him, you will become out subjects and serve us. (he left) Narrator: The Israelites were so scared of Goliath. No one dares to fight him. Now, lets talk about David. David was the youngest son of Jesse. (David and Jesse come out ) His three older brothers follow Saul to battle, but David who was very young at that time helped his dad took care of the sheep at home. One day his father asked him. Jesse: David, take this bag of roasted grains and these ten loaves of bread for your brothers and hurry to their camp. Take along these ten cheeses to the commander of their unit. See how your brothers are doing and bring back some assurance from them. They are with Saul and all the men of Israel in the Valley of Elah, fighting against the Philistines. David: Dont worry father I will be right back. I know that the battlefield is dangerous. Many men are dying to protect Israel, but dont worry, we are the army of God. He will protect us and give us the victory against the Philistines. (Jesse left David head for the camp)

David: (David reaches the camp) At last I reach the camp, but why I didnt see any bloody war I thought about. And why arent they fighting (Goliath comes out soldiers run). How come the soldiers of God seemed so scared of that giant? When they see him they will run in great fear. Goliath: (David heard Goliath saying) Hey, Israelites you said you were the army of God why dont you send anyone to fight me. If you cant beat me that means your God cant beat my god. David: This giant is disgracing our God. And he is defying Israel. Why dont someone kill him, why are you so scared of him. Soldier: This giant is the Philistine champion. He is huge with his bronze armors on. He also has that big spear on his back. You will die fighting him. No one can beat him. David: What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine and removes the disgrace from Israel? Soldier: The king will give great wealth and his daughter to the man that can kill this man. And he will also exempt the mans family from taxes in Israel.
