Sunnybrook Farm Museum is again offering a remarkable summer day camp experience for children aged 5-11. Located at 4701 30th Street, just North of Bower Mall and tucked up against Waskasoo Park, the Museum preserves the history of the family mixed farm right inside the City of Red Deer. In the buildings and exhibits throughout the site you will find farming equipment from a century ago to the 1950s. A walk through the grounds takes you past a dairy barn, machine and hay sheds, a display barn, chicken coop and exhibits, to a century-old log house. A heritage flowerbed fronts the house, while a more modern summer kitchen at the back hold items used every day by settlers. Our summer day camp experience is led by a professional team of interpretive staff. Children will participate in traditional farm activities including learning how to feed baby farm animals, make butter, pump water, cook on a wood stove and take part in fun farm activities and crafts. They will explore our 1889 log home, check out the blacksmith shop, and take a ride on the barrel train. Weekly field trips are also included. These day camps run July 2 August 30 between the hours of 9:00am and 4:30pm, with before and after care available. Costs are $175.00 for a week or $40.00 per day.
