Mah Nishtanah:
How is this Haggadah Different from all others?

For many years, there has been an interest among believers in the Book of Mormon, to learn about the Passover. This Haggadah is not intended to be traditional, but rather an instructional seder, with Book of Mormon scriptures, to rejoice in our redemption. We remember our redemption every week in the Sacrament service. So why do we share Passover? Scriptures ask us to retell what great works Messiah has done for us as a type for our own future. This Haggadah eliminates the egg from the ceremony, as the traditional seder did not have one and was adopted from the pagan Easter egg. Additionally, the shankbone is lightly taught upon, as we remember that Messiah who atoned for our sins, had no bones broken. In the Appendices, we touch upon the visitation of EliYahu on April 3, 1836, which was the Festival of Firstfruits during the Paschal week. We also mention the wine kept from the beginning that will be served at the marriage supper of the lamb at His second coming. Additionally, the absence of the Tetragrammaton is also explained according to the Messianic age to come.

Opening Prayer Leader: We praise Your Name O LORD our God, King of the Universe, who has sustained us in life and enabled us to reach this season. You have chosen and sanctified us and You have given us Your appointed times. In gladness and in joy, You have granted Zion a heritage. Blessed are You O LORD our God, King of the Universe, who separates between holy and common, between light and darkness, between Yisrael and the nations, between the seventh day and the six days of labor. We dedicate our hearts to You for this service. BShem Yahushua. Amen.

The Law of Moshe teaches, blesses us and typifies Messiah! II Nefi 11:4 Behold, my soul delighteth in proving unto my people the truth of the coming of Messiah. For this end hath the law of Moshe been given. And all things which have been given of Elohim from the beginning of the world unto man, are the typifying of Him. Passover is a celebration of rejoicing in the continuous marvelous work of Elohim, to bring the Children of Israel out of bondage into the Torah of Freedom.

Preparing the Passover Leader: Passover is a celebration of rejoicing in the marvelous works and wonders of our Eternal Heavenly Father, to bring the children of Yisrael out of bondage, into the Torah blessings of freedom. It is a time we celebrate crossing over from the old ways of bondage to a new life of liberty. Reader 2: Before Passover, items with leaven are removed from the home, including all foods that contain yeast. Preparation begins with a thorough cleaning, ending in a final search for leaven.

Exodus 12:15 Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. On the first day you shall remove leaven from your houses. For whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that person shall be cut off from Yisrael.
2

Leader: The Passover Seder (say-der) (, literally "order" or "arrangement") is a special service that takes place on the first evening of Passover. Let us ready our hearts for the Passover Seder, the order of service. Tradition teaches that in each generation, we must consider ourselves as having personally been freed from Egypt. As we prepare for this experience of personal redemption, let us put far from us the leaven of sin hidden within our hearts. Before His death and resurrection, our Messiah celebrated the Passover: Luke 22:15 Then He said to them, "With fervent desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; In the story of the Exodus, Messiah our Passover lamb, revealed to His disciples the plan of eternal redemption. He spoke to them of His body and blood and that He would have die.

1 Corinthians 5:7 Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Messiah, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.

Nerot (Kindling the Festival Lights)

Wife/Mother: The Passover meal is commanded to be eaten in the evening. Kindling of the Passover festival lights is done traditionally by a woman, as our Messiah who is the light of the world, came as the promised seed of a woman. The two candles are kindled and then the hands are waved gently over the candles towards the woman. The two candles represent the commandments to remember and observe the festival.

Baruch atah Adonai eloheynu melakh ha olam asher kidshanu, bidevaru uvishmo anakhnu madlikim haneyrot shel yom tov Blessed are You O LORD our God, King of the Universe, who has set us apart by His Word (Yahushua) and in whose name we light the festival lights.

Leader:

The Four Cups of the Fruit of the Vine

Each cup is connected to a different part of the Seder. The first is for Kiddush (), the second is for Maggid (), the third is for Birkat Hamazon ( ) and the fourth is for Hallel (). The Four Cups represent the four expressions of deliverance promised by the LORD in Exodus 6:2-8. "I will bring out [Hotzeyti], "I will deliver," [Hitzalti] "I will redeem," [Gaaliti] and "I will take" [Lekachti]. The Four Cups are related to four worlds: this world, the Messianic age, the world at the revival of the dead, and the world to come. The fifth cup is the cup of EliYahu, which is elaborated upon with latter day revelation in Appendix A.

Exodus 6:6-8 Therefore say to the children of Yisrael: 'I am the LORD your God; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. 7 'I will take you as My people, and I will be your Elohim. Then you shall know that I am the LORD your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. 8And I will bring you unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Avraham, to Yitzchak, and to Yaakov; and I will give it you for a heritage: I the LORD will do it. We celebrate the promises of redemption and relationship by drinking from our cups four times. With each cup, let us remember the relationship that our Heavenly Father desires with His people Zion.

Kiddush ( 1st Cup of Sanctification)

Kiddush (sanctification) is the act of sanctifying Shabbat through the act of reciting a blessing over a cup of the fruit of the vine. Because the Torah speaks of Shabbat using the language Shamor v'Zakhor, keep it and remember it. During the Seder we will drink from our cup and replenish it four times. This first cup is called the Kiddush Cup, or the cup of sanctification.
6

With this cup we commit our service to the LORD, and pray for His blessing on the rest of our time together as believers in Messiah. (All raise the first cup.) All:

Baruch atah Adonai eloheynu melakh ha olam boray pree ha gafen
Blessed are You, O LORD our God, Ruler of the universe, who creates the fruit of the vine.

Leader: Prayer of thanksgiving: You made festivals for happy times, and appointed holidays and seasons for rejoicing. Such is this Day of Passover when we gather to remember our going out from Egypt and later, our going out of Jerusalem with Lehi, to taste our freedom. For you chose us among all others to celebrate Your Holy festivals with joy, the marks of your love and favor. Bless you O LORD, the Elohim of Yisrael, who makes Holy festivals. Let us all drink of this, the first cup of Passover. (All drink the 1st cup.)

Ur'chatz ( Washing of Hands & Feet)

As followers of Messiah, we are commanded to wash our hands and feet: And I give unto you, who are the first laborers in this last kingdom, a commandment that you assemble yourselves together, and organize yourselves, and prepare yourselves, and sanctify yourselves; yea, purify your hearts, and cleanse your hands and your feet before me, that I may make you clean; [DC 88] Psalm 24:3-4 Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. Our Messiah humbled Himself when He laid aside His garments and girded himself with a towel to wash the feet of His disciples: John 13:12-15 So when He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, "Do you know what I have done to you? 13 "You call me Teacher and Master, and you say well, for so I am. 14 "If I then, your Master and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. 15 "For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.

The Seder Plate

Leader: It is important to explain the three symbols of the Seder: the Passover lamb, the bitter herb, and the unleavened bread. The story of Passover is a story of deliverance from bondage and all the elements of the Passover meal are a part of the portrait of redemption offered by Yahushua which are depicted on the seder plate.

Karpas ( Vegetable)

A vegetable (usually parsley) is dipped in salt water and eaten. The vegetable symbolizes the lowly origins of the Hebrew people; the salt water symbolizes the tears shed as a result of our slavery. Parsley is a good vegetable to use for this purpose, because when you shake off the salt water, it looks like tears. All: What is the meaning of the karpas and the salt water?

Leader: The karpas greens represent life, from Messiah. Life in Egypt for the children of Yisrael was a life of pain and suffering. Even Lehi and his family suffered persecutions for prophesying the destruction of Jerusalem. The salt water represents the tears of life, remembering that sometimes life is immersed in tears, as we remain faithful to our divine mission in sharing the gospel to the nations. (All join in prayer) Blessed are You, O LORD our God, Ruler of the universe, who creates the fruit of the earth and has turned our sorrow to joy with redemption through Messiah. Amen. Leader: Let us eat of the karpas dipped in salt water. (All eat a small piece of parsley dipped in salt water.) Yachatz ( Breaking of Middle Matzot) Leader: Three matzot are wrapped together for Passover. There are various explanations for this ceremony. Some consider this a unity of Avraham, Yitzchak and Yaakov and others explain it as a unity of worship with the priests, Levites, and the people of Yisrael. We who know Messiah, understand the mystery of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The middle of the three matzot on the Seder plate is broken in two. The larger
10

half is hidden, to be used later as the afikomen, the dessert after the meal. The smaller half is returned to its place between the other two matzot. Afikomen: Anciently, participants partook of a morsel of the lamb as the last food eaten during the Passover evening. Afikomen in Aramaic means my very presence has come. Later, when there was no temple or tabernacle in which to perform sacrifices, the afikomen took the place of the lamb (bread takes the place of the lamb as Messiahs body takes the place of the sacrificial lamb). The afikomen directly represents the Passover Lamb. The symbolism is our Saviours suffering, burial, and resurrection. The bread is pierced and striped during its preparation, then broken, wrapped in a linen napkin, buried (hidden), brought forth again, then ransomed for a gift at the end of the feast. Table Leader: (Remove the middle matzot and hold it up) All: Blessed are you O LORD our God, King of the universe who brings forth bread from the earth and sent Yahushua, The Bread of Life! Leader: (break the middle matzot in half) (wrap half in napkin, now called the afikomen, set aside)

11

As the middle piece of the bread of affliction is broken, Messiah was also broken. One half is called the afikomen (the coming one). It is now wrapped in a white cloth just as Messiahs body was prepared for His burial. (break a piece and pass it around the table) The leader now breaks a piece from the other half of the middle piece, and distributes the remainder to the people at the table, passing it round the table. Each person eats the matzot piece they receive or break off from the half sent around, meditating on it as the "bread of affliction," and bread of "sincerity and truth which is a type of the sacrament [todah offering] Deut. 16:3. (All eat a piece of matzot.) Reader 2: John 6:35 And Messiah said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. All: Please request your children to cover their eyes. If the children will cover their eyes, we will hide the afikomen. Just as we are hiding the afikomen, so was Messiah placed in a tomb, hidden for a time.

12

But just as the afikomen will return later to complete our Passover Seder, so the sinless Messiah rose from the dead to ascend into heaven. II Nefi 2:8 Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of Elohim, save it be through the merits and mercy and grace of the Holy Messiah, which layeth down His life, according to the flesh, and taketh it again by the power of the Spirit, that He may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, being the first that should rise. All: Great is the reward for he who finds the hidden afikomen.

Leader: In the matzot, we can see a picture of Messiah, notice how it is striped and pierced:

13

Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. Mosiah 14:4-5 Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of Elohim, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Zechariah 12:10 And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.

Maggid ( The Telling of The Passover Story)

The maggid is a retelling of the story of the Exodus from Egypt and the first Passover. A young person asks The Four Questions, known as Mah Nishtanah (Why is it different?), which are words in the Four Questions. The maggid is designed to satisfy the needs of four different types of people: the wise one who seeks truth; the wicked one, who learns the penalty for disobedience; the simple one, who needs to know the basics; and the one who is unable to ask, who doesn't even know enough to know what to ask. Alma had four sons, and in his admonition to at least three of them, he expressed this Passover typology. Helaman typifies the wise son.
14

At Alma 39, Alma speaks to Corianton about his sins, which typifies the wicked son in need of repairing his wrongs. To Shiblon, Alma encourages him to keep the commands to be delivered from his trials at Alma 38.

The Four Questions

It is a privilege to answer the four questions of Passover and to recite the mighty works of our faithful Elohim. Exodus 12:24-27 And you shall observe this thing as an ordinance for you and your sons forever. 25 "It will come to pass when you come to the land which the LORD will give you, just as He promised, that you shall keep this service. 26 "And it shall be, when your children say to you, 'What do you mean by this service?' 27 "that you shall say, 'It is the Passover sacrifice of the LORD, who passed over the houses of the children of Yisrael in Egypt when He struck the Egyptians and delivered our households.' " So the people bowed their heads and worshiped.
15

Leader: Ma nish- tanah halailah hazeh mikol haleylot? Why is this night different from all other nights?

(Volunteer Needed A child to ask the four questions.) Question #1 Child: On all other nights we eat leaven. Why on this night do we eat the unleavened bread? Leader: Once we were slaves to Pharaoh in Egypt, but the LORD in His goodness and mercy redeemed us from the land with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. The LORD also provided for the exodus of Lehi from Jerusalem. All of these events point to the redemption offered through Messiah. We eat the unleavened bread to remember this redemption, past, present and future.

16

Question #2 Child: On all other nights, we eat herbs of every kind. On this night why do we eat the bitter herbs? Leader: We eat them to remember how bitter it is to be in bondage as our Fathers were in Egypt. As believers, having been redeemed of the curse of the law of death by Messiah, we are free from the bitterness of taskmasters who would place us under the law of the performances and ordinances of men without an infinite atonement offering. Question #3 Child: On all other nights, we do not dip our vegetables. On this night why do we dip the greens? Leader: By dipping, we remember that a life with bondage is bitter, but the harshest bondage is sweetened by redemption. Question #4 Child: On all other nights, we eat our meals in any manner. Why on this night do we eat our meal leisurely? Leader: We eat our meal leisurely tonight, because once we were slaves, now we are free in Messiah. We must now recount the story of Passover and share how we rest in the work of Messiah at the cross, for our salvation.
17

Reader 2: There was a great famine in the land of Canaan when Josephs brothers came to Egypt to buy food. Joseph supplied their needs, while unrecognized by his brothers. When he revealed himself, his brothers clung to him and wept. The children of Yisrael came to Egypt, to escape the famine and they prospered in Goshen. After many generations when they became numerous, there arose a new Pharaoh who did not know Joseph. He saw the might of Yisrael, and feared that in time of war, the sons of Jacob, might join themselves with Egypts enemies. So he subdued the Yisraelites, making them slaves, burdening them with cruel labor, making bricks for the great cities of Pharaoh. Then, Pharaoh commanded every Hebrew male child to be slaughtered and cast into the Nile and drowned. In bitter affliction, the Yisraelites cried out to the LORD our God, Help us. Do not forsake us. The LORD heard the cries of His people. He remembered His covenant with Avraham, Yitzchak and Yaakov. He spared Moses, a child of the Hebrews, and raised him up to be a deliverer to proclaim, Let my people go, so that they may keep my Sabbaths! I Nefi 17:24-25 Yea, do ye suppose that they would have been led out of bondage if the LORD had not commanded Moshe that he should lead them out of bondage? Now ye know that the children of Yisrael
18

were in bondage; and ye know that they were laden with tasks which were grievous to be borne; wherefore, ye know that it must needs be a good thing for them, that they should be brought out of bondage. Pharaoh hardened his heart to the Elohim of Yisrael. Plagues were sent to the people of Egypt and Pharaohs heart remained hardened. When the tenth plague fell upon the land with the death of Egypts first born, the children of Yisrael sacrificed a spotless lamb and applied its blood to their homes, at the top of the doorway, and to the two side posts for protection from the curse All: Exodus 12:13-14 Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt. 14 'So this day shall be to you a memorial; and you shall keep it as a feast to the LORD throughout your generations. You shall keep it as a feast by an everlasting ordinance. Reader 2: The LORD repeats the story of redemption, so that we understand that He is our Savior, and there is no other. In the Book of Mormon, we read: Alma 9:22 Yea, and after having been delivered of Elohim out of the Land of Jerusalem, by the hand of the LORD, having been saved from famine, and from
19

sickness and all manner of diseases of every kind, and they having waxed strong in battle, that they might not be destroyed, having been brought out of bondage time after time, and having been kept and preserved until now and they have been prospered until they are rich in all manner of things. We are celebrating the fulfillment of this ordinance in the sacrifice of our Passover Lamb, Messiah Yahushua. By the blood of the lamb, we are saved. What a mighty act of redemption! Just as no bones were broken, so none of the bones of Messiah were broken when He was made to suffer and atone for us all on Passover. His blood is applied by faith to the doorposts of our hearts as we accept His redemption. All: John 5:24 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. Alma 32:41 But if ye will nourish the word, yea, nourish the tree as it beginneth to grow, by your faith with great diligence, and with patience, looking forward to the fruit thereof, it shall take root; and behold it shall be a tree springing up unto everlasting life!

20

Reader 2: Maggid ( 2nd Cup of Plagues) The second cup is to remind us of the Ten Plagues and the suffering of the Egyptians when they hardened their hearts. In order not to rejoice over the suffering of our enemies, we spill a drop of the fruit of the vine (which is a symbol of joy) as we recite each of the Ten Plagues, thus remembering that our joy is diminished at the suffering of others. Proverbs 24:17 Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles; (All fill the second cup.) Leader: A full cup is a symbol of rejoicing. In this time, we are filled with joy at the deliverance from the hand of the LORD. Let us also remember the great cost at which redemption was purchased. Lives were sacrificed to bring about the release of the people of the LORD from the slavery of Egypt. But a far greater price purchased our redemption from slavery to sin the death of Messiah.

21

The word Dayenu proclaims that had the LORD performed any one of the many deeds performed for His people, it would have been enough to obligate us to give thanks to Him. As we all say each plague aloud (in bold), let us dip our little finger into the cup, allowing a drop of liquid to fall, reducing the fullness of our cup of joy this night. 1. Dam (blood)All the water was changed to blood 2. Tzefardeyah (frogs)An infestation of frogs sprang up in Egypt 3. Kinim (lice)The Egyptians were afflicted by lice 4. Arov (wild animals)An infestation of wild animals (some say flies) sprang up in Egypt 5. Dever (pestilence)A plague killed off the Egyptian livestock 6. Sh'chin (boils)An epidemic of boils afflicted the Egyptians 7. Barad (hail)Hail rained from the sky 8. Arbeh (locusts)Locusts swarmed over Egypt 9. Choshech (darkness)Egypt was covered in darkness 10. Makkat Bechorot (killing of the first-born)All the first-born sons of the Egyptians were slain by Elohim Leader: Psalm 145:7 They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, And shall sing of Your greatness. How great is the goodness of the LORD to us! For each of His acts of mercy and kindness we declare dayenu (meaning it would have been enough)

22

All: (respond with Dayenu to the following statements.) Leader: Had He brought us out of Egypt... Had He judged the Egyptians... Had He destroyed their gods... Had He slain their firstborn... Had He gave us their riches... Had He divided the sea to let us pass through... Had He sank our foes into the depths... Had He supplied our needs for forty years... Had He fed us manna in the wilderness... Had He given us the Sabbath to renew our strength... Had He brought us to hear Him at Mt. Sinai... Had He sent Messiah, the Temple not built with human hands Had He given us atonement for our sins

Blessed are You, O LORD our God, for You have, supplied all our needs. You have given us Messiah, forgiveness for sin, life abundant and life everlasting.

23

All: (prayer of thanksgiving) Baruch atah Adonai eloheynu melakh ha olam boray pree ha gafen Blessed art thou Adonai our Elohim, King of the Universe, who creates the fruit of the vine. (All drink the remainder of the 2nd cup.)

Mormon 9:29 .see that ye partake not of the sacrament of Messiah unworthily; but see that ye do all things in worthiness, and do it in the name of Yahushua Messiah, the Son of the living Elohim; and if ye do this, and endure to the end, ye will in nowise be cast out.
24

DAYENU SONG

25

The Maror ( The Bitter Herbs) The maror or bitter herb, is represented here by the horseradish. It reminds us that the root of life is often bitter, as it was for the people of Yisrael in the land of Egypt. As we partake of the maror, we are reminded of how bitter life is without redemption. (All join in prayer) Baruch atah Adonai eloheynu melakh ha olam boray pree ha adamah Blessed are You, O LORD our God, Ruler of the universe, who creates the fruit of the earth. Leader: Let us all eat, experiencing the "bitter herbs." The horseradish will probably bring few tears to a few eyes, reminding us of the tears and pain of slavery and bondage to sin. (All: eat a small piece of matzot with some horseradish)
26

Korech ( Charoset Mortar of Affliction)

The word charoset comes from the Hebrew word cheres - - "clay." Charoset is a sweet, lumpy paste served during the Passover Seder. Its color and texture recall the mortar with which the Yisraelites bonded bricks when they were enslaved in Egypt. All: Why is the charoset sweet when the Yisraelites worked in bitter toil? Leader: It is sweet because we remember even the bitterest of labor can be sweet when our redemption draws close. This is especially true for believers in Yahushua. (All eat a small piece of matzot with some charoset.) Zeroah Roasted lamb shankbone Symbolizing the korban Passover (Passover sacrifice), which was a lamb that was offered in the Temple, then roasted and eaten as part of the meal on Seder night.

27

Leader: (Lifting the shank bone of the lamb) This roasted shank bone represents the lamb whose blood marked the houses of the children of Yisrael, for a sign of their obedience to the commands of the LORD. We have eaten the matzot to remind us of the haste in which the children of Yisrael fled Egypt; we have tasted the bitter herbs to remind us of their bitter bondage and slavery. This is the feast of the Passover Lamb, the zeroah reminds us of the first Passover when the LORD Himself passed over the homes of the Yisraelites and smote the Egyptians and delivered His chosen. Also, the unleavened bread is a type Yahushuas body without sin. Exodus 12:13 Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt. This shank bone reminds us of our sacrificed lamb Messiah Yahushua, whose bones were not broken. HalleluYah!

28

Reader 2: John 1:29 The next day Yochanan saw Yahushua coming toward him, and said, Behold The Lamb of Elohim who taketh away the sin of the world! Moshe reminds us that it was the LORD Himself who redeemed the children of Yisrael from slavery. Deuteronomy 26:8 So the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm, with great terror and with signs and wonders. Exodus 12:12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD. Leader: He said, On that same night I will pass through Egypt All: I, and not an angel. Leader: and strike down every firstborn both man and beast All: I, and not a seraph. Leader: He said, and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment All: I, and not a messenger.
29

Leader: He said, I am the LORD All: I myself and none other. Leader: Let us now consider what our Eternal Heavenly Father (Abba) has done for us and bless His Name and rejoice in the knowledge of our salvation through Yahushua Messiah. John 3:16-17 For Elohim so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For Elohim did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. Let us walk always on the straight road, keeping and honoring His eternal commands. Alma 5:27 Have ye walked, keeping yourselves blameless before Elohim? Could ye say, if ye were called to die at this time, within yourselves, that ye have been sufficiently humble? That your garments have been cleansed and made white through the blood of Messiah, who will come to redeem his people from their sins?

30

Shulchan Orech ( Set Table/Eating the Meal) Leader: (Let us pray & offer thanksgiving for the food we are about to receive). All: Baruch atah Adonai eloheynu melakh ha olam ha motzee lekhem meen ha artez Blessed art thou O LORD our God, King of the universe Who brings forth bread from the earth Its Time For Dinner!

31

Tzafun ( The Afikomen) It is time to find the afikomen that was hidden earlier in the Seder, when the children had their eyes closed. Leader: Please pour the 3rd cup to prepare for the next part of the Seder. Children, can you please find the afikomen we had hidden earlier in the Seder. I would like to ransom it back from the child who finds it for these coins. The idea is to keep the children attentive throughout the premeal proceedings, waiting for this part. Leader: (Ransom the afikomen) All the Table Leaders who broke the middle matzot and set it aside earlier, please retrieve that matzot now. We will use this bread and the 3rd cup to do as our Master Yahushua has instructed us. III Nefi 20:8 And He saith unto them: He that eateth this bread, eateth of My body to their soul, and he that drinketh of this wine, drinketh of My blood to their soul; and their soul shall never hunger nor thirst, but shall be filled.

32

The afikomen was the middle piece of matzot, as Yahushua Messiah is the priest and mediator between Elohim and His people. This tradition may stem from the ancient belief of two separate comings of Messiah, the Messiah Ben Yosef and Messiah Ben David. We wrapped the afikomen in a napkin, just as He was wrapped in linen for burial. We hid it, as He was buried. We ransomed it back, as He would be resurrected, and distributed it to everyone, as He would distribute His life to all who believe. [Lets distribute the afikomen and then bless the bread and fruit of the vine]. (Distribute a piece of the afikomen to all at the table)

Reader 3: III Nefi 18:1-12 And it came to pass that Yahushua commanded His talmidim that they should bring forth some bread and wine unto Him. And while they were gone for bread and wine, He commanded the multitude that they should sit themselves down upon the earth. And when the talmidim had come with bread and wine, He took of the bread and brake and blessed it; and He gave unto the talmidim and commanded that they should eat. And when they had eaten and were filled, he commanded that they should give unto the multitude. And when the multitude had eaten and were filled, He saith unto the talmidim: Behold, there shall one be ordained among you, and to him will I give power that he shall break bread and bless it and give it unto the people of My assembly, unto all those who shall believe and be immersed in My name. And this shall ye always observe to do, even as I have done, even as I have broken bread and blessed it and given it unto you. And this shall ye do in remembrance of My body, which I have shown unto you. And it shall be a testimony unto the Father that ye do always remember Me. And if ye do always remember Me ye shall have My Spirit to be with you. And it came to pass that when He said these words, He commanded His talmidim that they should take of the wine of the cup and drink of it, and that they should also give unto the multitude that they might drink of it. And it came to pass that they did so, and did drink of it and were filled; and they gave unto the multitude, and they did drink, and they were filled. And when the talmidim had done
36

this, Yahushua saith unto them: Blessed are ye for this thing which ye have done, for this is fulfilling my commandments, and this doth witness unto the Father that ye are willing to do that which I have commanded you. And this shall ye always do to those who repent and are immersed in My name; and ye shall do it in remembrance of My blood, which I have shed for you, that ye may witness unto the Father that ye do always remember Me. And if ye do always remember Me, ye shall have my Spirit to be with you. And I give unto you a commandment that ye shall do these things. And if ye shall always do these things, blessed are ye, for ye are built upon My rock... Leader: Birkat ( After Dinner Blessing, Welcoming EliYahu) Deuteronomy 8:10 When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land which He has given you. Blessed is the name of the LORD now and forever. Blessed is the LORD whose food we have eaten and through whose goodness we live. For all these blessings, we thank the LORD our God with praise. May His name be praised by every living being forever, as it is written: When you have eaten your fill, give thanks to your Elohim for the good land which He has given you (Deut. 8:10). Blessed is the LORD for the land and its produce.
37

May the Merciful One bless all who are gathered here and all their families, as well as all dear to us, just as our ancestors: Avraham, Yitzchak and Yaakov were described as good; so may Abba bless all of us together with a complete blessing. We say these things in the name of Yahushua Messiah, Amen.

Reader 2: Hallel ( 4th Cup of Praise) The LORD brought us out of Egypt and the house of bondage, fed us in famine, let us prosper amid plenty, saved us from the sword, the plague, from evil and disease. The LORD helped us and may He always keep us upon the side of mercy. II Nefi 3:5 And great were the covenants of the LORD which He made unto Yosef. Wherefore, Yosef truly saw our day. And he obtained a promise of the LORD, that out of the fruit of his loins, the LORD would raise up a righteous branch unto the House of Yisrael; not the Messiah, but a branch which was to be broken off, nevertheless, to be remembered in the covenants of the LORD that the
38

Messiah should be made manifest unto them in the latter days, in the Spirit of power, unto the bringing of them out of darkness unto lightyea, out of hidden darkness and out of captivity unto freedom. All: Blessed be the name of the LORD, blessed be the name of our Salvation. Leader: Bless the name of the LORD from this time forth and forevermore. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, His name is to be praised! The LORD is high above all nations, and His glory above the heavens. (All raise the 4th cup, and lets give thanks.) Baruch atah Adonai eloheynu melakh ha olam boray pree ha gafen Blessed are You, O LORD our God, Ruler of the universe, who creates the fruit of the vine. In every generation, we are obligated to regard himself as if he has gone forth from Egypt, since it says at Exodus 13:8: And you shall tell your son in that day, it is because of what the LORD did for me, when I came forth out of Egypt.

REDEEMER OF ISRAEL

40

The Cup of EliYahu According to scripture, the prophet EliYahu did not die; he ascended to heaven in a fiery chariot and vanished. EliYahu returned to earth, and as the forerunner of the Messiah he would prepare the way for a great age of peace. As Believers in Yahushua, we know that Yochanan the Immerser preceded Messiah in preparing Yisraels hearts to repent and receive the Kingdom at hand. He said regarding Yochanan: Matthew 11:14 And if you are willing to receive it, he is EliYahu who is to come. As the forerunner came in Yochanan, we know that EliYahu did come again on the Feast of Firstfruits according to the Enoch calendar [Sunday, April 3, 1836] and restored priesthood power and other covenants relative to the ingathering and immersion of the living for our dead. We who are believers in the renewed covenant, drink the 5th cup of EliYahu every Sunday during Sacrament, as we are the chosen ones to bring redemption to our Hebrew family! After this vision had closed, another great and glorious vision burst upon us; for EliYahu the prophet, who was taken to heaven without tasting death, stood before us, and said: Behold, the time has fully come, which was spoken of by the mouth of Malachi testifying that he [EliYahu] should be sent, before the great and dreadful day of the LORD come To turn
41

the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the children to the fathers, lest the whole earth be smitten with a curseTherefore, the keys of this dispensation are committed into your hands; and by this ye may know that the great and dreadful day of the LORD is near, even at the doors. [DC 110]. Reader 2: As we near the close of this Seder, let us always remember the meaning of Passover and rejoice in our redemption and resurrection. Let us walk after the holy order of the LORD, and remember our covenants and be clothed with strength. Mosiah 4:11-15 And again I say unto you as I have said before, that as ye have come to the knowledge of the glory of Elohim, or if ye have known of His goodness and have tasted of His love, and have received a remission of your sins, which causeth such exceedingly great joy in your souls, even so I would that ye should remember, and always retain in remembrance, the greatness of Elohim, and your own nothingness, and His goodness and long-suffering towards you, unworthy creatures, and humble yourselves even in the depths of humility, calling on the name of the LORD daily, and standing steadfastly in the faith of that which is to come, which was spoken by the mouth of the angel. And behold, I say unto you that if ye do this ye shall always rejoice, and be filled with the love of Elohim, and always retain a remission of your sins; and ye shall grow in the knowledge of the glory of him that created you, or in the knowledge of
42

that which is just and true. And ye will not have a mind to injure one another, but to live peaceably, and to render to every man according to that which is his due. And ye will not suffer your children that they go hungry, or naked; Neither will ye suffer that they transgress the laws of Elohim and fight and quarrel one with another, and serve the devil, who is the master of sin, or who is the evil spirit which hath been spoken of by our fathers, he being an enemy to all righteousness. But ye will teach them to walk in the ways of truth and soberness; ye will teach them to love one another, and to serve one another. Reader 3: Those called according to the Holy order of the LORD must repent and be born again. Let us be His servants and cry to the nations that they must repent and be born again. I Nefi 10:18-19 For He is the same yesterday, today, and forever and the way is prepared for all men from the foundation of the world, if it so be that they repent and come unto Him. For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of Elohim shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Spirit, as well in this time, as in times of old, and as well in times of old as in times to come; wherefore, the course of the LORD is one eternal round. He will go before us IF we keep His commandments, as covenant obedience brings us blessings. Lets be firm and immovable in keeping the commandments of the LORD!
43

Alma 36:1-2 My son, give ear to my words; for I swear unto you, that inasmuch as ye shall keep the commandments of Elohim ye shall prosper in the land. I would that ye should do as I have done, in remembering the captivity of our fathers; for they were in bondage, and none could deliver them except it was the Elohim of Avraham, and the Elohim of Yitzchak, and the Elohim of Yaakov; and He surely did deliver them in their afflictions. Leader:

Nirtzah ( Conclusion) Aaronic Blessing

The Seder is now complete, let us close in prayer. May the LORD bless us and watch over us. May He cause the light of his countenance to shine upon us and be gracious unto us. May He cast out of all hearts the darkness of ignorance and the blight of prejudice. May He lift up his countenance upon our country and render it a true home of liberty and a defender of justice. May He grant us and all mankind peace. Amen.

APPENDIX A
On Sunday, April 3, 1836, at the Kirtland Temple, Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery were in prayer after receiving the sacrament, when the veil was taken from their minds and the eyes of their understanding were opened. They saw the LORD standing in His glory, on the breastwork of the pulpit and under His feet was a paved work of pure gold, in color like amber. His eyes were as a flame of fire; His hair white like pure snow; His countenance shone above the brightness of the sun; His voice as the sound of rushing great waters, even the voice of the LORD saying: I am the first and the last; I am He who liveth, I am He who was slain, I am your advocate with the Father. Behold, your sins are forgiven you; you are clean before me; therefore, lift up your heads and rejoice. Let the hearts of your brethren rejoice, and let the hearts of all my people rejoice, who have, with their might, built this house to my name. For behold, I have accepted this house, and my name shall be here; and I will manifest myself to my people in mercy in this house. Yea, I will appear unto my servants and speak unto them with mine own voice, if my people will keep my commandments, and do not pollute this holy house. Yea the hearts of thousands and tens of thousands shall greatly rejoice in consequence of the blessings which shall be poured out, and the endowment with which my servants have been endowed in this house. And the fame of this house shall spread to foreign lands; and this is the beginning of the blessing which shall be poured out upon the heads of my people. Even so. Amen. Then Moshe appeared and committed the keys of the gathering of Yisrael from the four parts of the earth and the leading of the ten tribes from the land of the north. Then Elias appeared, committing the dispensation of the gospel of Avraham, saying that in us and our seed, all generations after us should be blessed. Then EliYahu appeared saying: Behold, the time has fully come, which was spoken of by the mouth of Malachitestifying that he should be sent, before the great and dreadful day of the LORD, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the children to the fathers, lest the whole earth be smitten with a cursetherefore the keys of this dispensation are committed into your hands; and by this you may know that the great and dreadful day of the LORD is near, even at the doors.

APPENDIX B Yayin HaMeshumar: The Wine From The Beginning The Midrash Rabbah commentary of the Jews, explains that Isaiahs eye has not seen at Isaiah 64:4, as the Yayin HaMeshumar, which is the wine that has been kept in its grapes from the six days in the beginning. This represents the wine that will be served at the Wedding Supper after the Messiah comes again when both houses are reunited! [Revelation 19:7] Paul teaches about the Yayin HaMeshumar: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery that was hidden and that God had before separated from before the ages for our glory. That not one of the authorities of this world knew, for if they had known it, they would not have crucified the LORD of glory. But as it is written: The eye has not seen, and the ear has not heard, and into the heart of a son of man has not entered that which God had prepared for those who love Him. [I Corinthians 2:7-9]

APPENDIX C About The Sacred Name

We are not yet at the prophetic time for the Tetragrammaton to be restored according to the Tanak, Oral Torah and Book of Mormon. All scriptures in the Tanak that refer to the restoration of the Name of the LORD, are at a time after both houses of Israel are restored into one again as in the Days of David when they KNOW and ACCEPT His Name [the good news]. The [midrash] Sifre (Numbers 43) similarly states that in the Temple, the priestly blessing was given with the pronunciation of the special name (Shem Ha-Meforash), but outside the Temple with the substitute name (Adonai). The Mishnah (Sotah 7:6; Tamid 7:2) also states that that in the Temple the name was uttered as written, but outside the Temple by its substitute. In another Mishnah (Yoma 6:2), it is stated that on Yom Kippur when the High Priest uttered the Shem Ha-Meforash, the people fell on their faces and proclaimed: "Blessed be the name of His glorious kingdom for ever and ever."

In the Babylonian Talmud (Pesahim 50a), there is a homily on the verse: "In that day shall the LORD be One, and His name One" (Zechariah 14:9). This is understood to mean that in this world the Tetragrammaton is read as Adonai, but in the Messianic age, the name will once again be pronounced as it is written. The reason why the Book of Mormon does not use the Tetragrammaton, except for two places where it is written in English as Jehovah, is because it is speaking of the Messianic age to come when both houses are reunited. Both of these verses are about the Messianic age to come: 2 Nephi 22:1-2 In the millennial day all men will praise the LORDHe will dwell among themCompare Isaiah 12. 2 Nephi 22:1-2: And in that day thou shalt say: O LORD, I will praise thee; though thou wast angry with me thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me. 2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the LORD Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also has become my salvation. Moroni 10:34 And now I bid unto all, farewell. I soon go to rest in the paradise of God, until my spirit and body shall again reunite, and I am brought forth triumphant through the air, to meet you before the pleasing bar of the great Jehovah, the Eternal Judge of both quick and dead. Amen.

House of Joseph Warning D&C 63:60-64: 60 Behold, I am Alpha and Omega, even Jesus Christ [Yahushua Messiah]. 61 Wherefore, let all men beware how they take my name in their lips 62 For behold, verily I say, that many there be who are under this condemnation, who use the name of the LORD, and use it in vain, having not authority. 63 Wherefore, let the church repent of their sins, and I, the LORD, will own them; otherwise they shall be cut off. 64 Remember that that which cometh from above is sacred, and must be spoken with care, and by constraint of the Spirit; and in this there is no condemnation, and ye receive the Spirit through prayer; wherefore, without this there remaineth condemnation. The Third of Ten Commandments Exodus 20:7 reads: "Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain." Admonition from Ezekiel about profaning the Name Ezekiel 36:20-37 And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land. 21 But I had pity for mine holy name,

which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went. 22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the LORD God; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. 23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the LORD God, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. Below are 4 popular verses that many restorationists use to teach that we ought to use the Tetragrammaton today, along with our explanation of how they are misinterpreting these scriptures about the future, so as to apply them prematurely: 1. Zephaniah 3:9: For then, will I turn a people a pure language, that they may call upon the name As we see in the preceding verse according to contextual exegesis, it will be necessary for us to wait upon the LORD until the day that I rise up to gather the nations in the day of his wrath when both houses are united and serve Him with one consent. 8 Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the

earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy. 9 For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent. 2. Jeremiah 16:21: Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know my name. Contextually, as we can see in verse 15 below, this is at a time when the nations are gathered together from the four corners, which is a prophetic fulfillment of the renewed covenant of Jeremiah 31: 15 But, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers. 3. Isaiah 52:6: Therefore my people shall know my name Prophetically, this is at a time when Zion returns to Heavenly Father. See context in verses 1, 5-6 below: 1 Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.

5 Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed. 6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I. See also: Isa. 2:11; Hosea 2:16 (1423); Zech. 9:16. 4. Baruch 2:32: Therefore my people shall know my name This is at a time when Zion returns and the everlasting covenant is made, concerning Jeremiah chapter 31: Baruch 2:30 For I know that they will not obey me, for they are a stiff-necked people. But in the land of their exile they will come to themselves 31 and know that I am the LORD their God. I will give them a heart that obeys and ears that hear; 32 they will praise me in the land of their exile, and will remember my name 33 and turn from their stubbornness and their wicked deeds; for they will remember the ways of their ancestors, who sinned before the LORD. 34 I will bring them again into the land that I swore to give to their ancestors, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and they will rule over it; and I will increase them, and they will not be diminished. 35 I will make an everlasting covenant with them to be their God and they shall be my people; and I will never again remove my

people Israel from the land that I have given them." The Hebrew Tetragrammaton is the Sacred Name. However knowing His Name means much more. It means that we know His good news and receive it. At this time, the Corporate House of Judah has not received the milk of the gospel from Joseph and Joseph is yet to hear greater things from a restored Judah. When both corporate houses of Israel receive the roles given to each respective house, is when the Sacred Name Tetragrammaton will be restored. To do so beforehand, is using His Name in Vain. Below is a prophecy about how some are currently profaning His Name among the heathens in their ignorance: Ezekiel 36:20-23 And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land. 21 But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.
