To know the capital productivity of a bank, the best ratio that can be used is business per unit of capital. Here total capital employed means working fund i.e. total assets or total liabilities. If this ratio is high the productivity of capital is high. And if this ratio is low the productivity is low.
Formula:Business per unit of capital = Where, Business = deposits + Advances of the bank. Working fund = W.F. are total resources of a bank as on a particular date. Table no. 2) Net profit per unit of capital The Productivity of capital can be measured by the net profit per unit of capital ratio. If this is high the productivity of the capital is high. If this ratio is low, the productivity of the capital is low.
