Bloom Service is a reputable flower and gift shop situated at C-Mart in Changloon, Kedah. We have more than 50 types of flowers and gifts for all your occasions such as flower basket, hand bouquet, fruit basket, wedding bouquet, opening stand, gift and more. Be it birthdays, wedding, anniversary or other occasions, we are able to provide you with top quality flowers and gifts. Established in 2000 and celebrating our 13th year in business, Bloom Service is one of the largest wholesale floral products distributors in the Malaysia. As part of commitment to delight our customers, our dynamic team of professional flowers arrangers are constantly creating innovative and quality displays and always keep our prices low and affordable which set us apart from our competitors. We are committed to customer satisfaction by continuous improvement and stay focus on our flowers quality thru stringent quality control. We import fresh flowers, and plants daily from all over the world and distribute them to customers all over the Malaysia. Using express services like FedEx we provide delivery to areas outside of our own delivery range. In addition to fresh products, Blomm Service carries a vast inventory of floral supplies. You will find everything a flower shop needs from basic everyday items to holiday and novelty items. PROBLEM STATEMENT

There are many florist and gift shops still uses the manual system to manage their shop. The manual system that is being used by most florist and gift shop are seen as ineffective and inefficient to handle the regular tasks.

The manual system depends largely on handling document filling system. The filling system seems to works well with small quantity but become unmanageable when the quantity is large. The filling system requires a lot of space as each customer may contribute to one or more files. The filling system is difficult to be referred to when the number of customers increases. The indexing of names in the filling system increases and becomes difficult to check as the numbers of people sharing almost similar name is quite high.

The customer shopping environment too becomes boring and tiring with the manual system. The manual system depends largely on paper-based catalogue when it comes to promoting the goods available in the shop. The customer needs to flip over a lot of pages and files in order for them to select from the available products that are prepared by the shop.

The introduction of the website could solve the problem faced by the manual system entirely. The website can handle a large number of data with the storage in the database. The data can be easily stored, edited and retrieved from the database anytime. The customer too can shop effectively and efficiently with the website. The customer can shop electronically with the website happily with the facilities which are provided by the website. The trend of the current business largely depends on electronic commerce as the present environment.

OBJECTIVES
The system authenticate user that accesses their personal account The authentication is required as to validate the identity of the user that access to the account. The login modules limits accessibility to authorize user with valid user name and password to the particular set of account. Customer makes electronic shopping more easily, effectively and efficiently. The shopping cart provides the customer to make selection of floral and gift available widely at their own pace. The customer can browse thorough the available products and take their time in make decision regarding the product they wish to purchase. The customers' personal particulars can be stored, edited and viewed. The administrator can be able to managed customers personal particulars when is needed. The customers can make changes or managed their own account at anytime. The user is exposed to detailed information of floral decoration and care. The information is for user to gain knowledge of basic floral decoration and gift care. The administrator can highlight important dates to customers. The customers can make booking for important dates and events from date displayed. The user can provide feedback to the website regarding subject or the information which is available in the website. The customers are encouraged to communicate with shop by giving opinion on the subject of floral care and other related information which are looked as necessary.

SCOPE

Scope is the sum of all project deliverables or features that is being developed. This includes limitation and inclusion of expectations, responsibilities and objectives of a project. The scope could also be express as functionalities of the website.

1. Project Deliverables The project will be a standalone system with the functionalities of:

a. Shopping cart The shopping cart is a virtual basket in the shopping area. It functions as a temporary storage area for customer to hold the products which they wish to purchase. The shopping cart can be edited, added and deleted at any time.

b. Forum The customers can discuss together and share opinion through the website. Customer can create a new title to discuss or participate on the title by post. The customer can read other customers' post by visiting the forum.

c. Calendar The customer and staff can both use the calendar organizer. The calendar organizer too allows staffs to mark important dates or scheduling customers' orders. The calendar organizer serves as a reminder of important event and orders.

d. Login Management The system checks the authentication of user before user is allowed to enter the website. The u E r needs to have certain level of authorization whether it is member or staff to access to the website. The purpose of doing so is to encourage more customers to register as user of this website.

e. Personal information management The personal information managements store the customers' particulars into the database. The personal information is managed through the user management.

f. Email The email allows user to provide feedback regarding the shop or opinion any other related topic of the floral and gift care.

2. Target Users The target users for the florist and gift shop would be staff and customers of the florist and gift shop. The staff would be using the management functionalities while the customers would be using the general functionalities.

3. Constraints The constraint while producing this website is the time factor. This project would be developed of a given period of time which is sufficiently to produce the basic functional standalone web site. The web site would only serve as a basic commercial web site with limited general functionalities.

PROJECT SIGNIFICANT

The system is developed for florist and gift shop to help handles their daily tasks. The system too enhances the shopping environment of customers. This system will benefit both staff and customers each in their own way.

The system allows customer to purchase their product effective and efficiently. The purchasing and sales can be handled electronically without being tied to paper-based transaction. The electronic catalogue allows customers to take their time to browse through the products that is available by the shop. The shopping cart allows customers to make orders electronically without the need of much of staff attention.

The system helps staff to handle their daily task effective and efficiently. The staff need not need to spend much of their time and effort in recommending the product through the manual-based catalogue but instead concentrate on their job in preparing the floral and gift. The system can manage the catalogue electronically and at the same time handle the payment with the present of shopping cart.
