A writer is a person who produces literature or

non-fiction: novels, short stories, play etc. A skilled writer is able to use language to portray ideas and images. Sometimes writers work is considered a work of art.

Satisfying aspects Writers are able to put scenery and emotions into words onto paper and that can be very rewarding when they get it right and readers are able to relate. Some books need research and discovering something they did not and writing about it in detail is inspiring as it makes you want to learn more. If youre a screenplay writer you get the satisfaction of seeing all your hard work being enjoyed by others.

Demanding aspects The downfall of being a writer is employment and Writers block. A writer in any form does not have a guaranteed job, one day youre in the next day youre out! As for Writers block it is a condition, associated with writing as a profession, in which an author loses the ability to produce new work. It can be temporary or sometimes writers are unable to work for years. Generally Writers block caused by creative problems, the author may run out of inspiration.

One of the most obvious things a

successful writer needs to be good in English! A writer needs to handle the English language easily and although they have an editor; a writer needs to be good in grammar, spelling, writing paragraphs ect. A writer also needs to be able to do research which means being able to work neatly and organised and being good at filing and cataloguing. A writer needs to be artistic and investigative as you need to be willing to dig deep into a character or a scene while also trying to create a masterpiece. I would think that writers are intrigued by life, by nature and all the grey matter. Books or stories are based on life whether its fiction or non-fiction!

Writers are their own boss, they have their own timeline for example Jodi Picoult writes a book in nine months ironically the same time a baby is due... Most people who want to write take up Journalism or English literature and the most important subject would be English. Entrance qualifications are at least 70% in English and in some universities Maths or Maths lit are a

ccounted for. Most universities and colleges have Journalism and English courses. Students can take out loans or they could go publishers to ask for a bursary.
