Summary
I graduated last May with a Ph.D. in Computational Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics from the University of Texas at Austin. During my doctoral work I obtained substantial experience in theoretical atomic and molecular physics, as well as physical chemistry. Furthermore, I learned to use Mathematica and Fortran. Currently, I am teaching Physics and Calculus at ACE Academy Austin, a private, independent school for gifted and talented students, while simultaneously finishing degrees in Mathematics and Business Administration. I am proficient in German, English, Latin, and currently learning Mandarin Chinese. I would love to apply my skills and talents in the field of Management Consulting/ Technology Consulting.

Austin, TX, United States Aug 2008 - Jul 2011 My Research as a Graduate Research Assistant was focused on Computational Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics, in particular on the field of Collision-Induced Absorption. In collaboration with a Quantum-Chemistry group based at Michigan State University I calculated the collision-induced absorption by dense hydrogen-helium gas mixtures up to several thousand kelvin to provide Astro-Physicists with the necessary input data for a new estimate of the age of our Universe.

Postdoctoral Studies, Computational Physics

Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of Computational Atomic and Molecular Astrophysics at the University of Texas at Austin. My focus is on extending previous ab initio calculations of the collision-induced absorption spectra of simple molecular complexes to higher temperatures. This will help astronomers to be able to give a more precise estimate of the age of our galaxy and ultimately of the age of the Universe.
