Quick Reference Operating Procedures

1. Ensure that the Gold Kacha is on a firm and level surface. 2. Ensure there is an adequate source of clean water 4000 to 5000 litres/hr. 3. Ensure that there is a suitable area to deposit the tailings that will be discharged from the Gold Kacha. It is recommended that a tailings pipe (110 mm polyvinyl chloride (PVC) drainage pipe) is fitted to the launder discharge spout and secured in place to allow for a distant discharge of barren material.

4. Fit 50.8 mm (2 in) suction hose to the water pump (ensuring the rubber seals are inserted at the threaded couplings). The outlet from the pump should have a 50 mm to 25 mm reducer nipple. Ensure that the foot valve and suction screen are fitted to the suction end of the hose. At this stage make sure the 50 mm regulator ball valve is in the open position. Fill the outlet end of the suction hose with water before securing it to the water pump.

5. Fit the delivery hose to the 25 mm reducer nipple and the other end to the Gold Kacha inlet swage/hose tail.

6. Ensure the two water valves on the Gold Kacha are in the open position and that the concentrate drain plug is in place.

7. Bleed the water pump by filling the casing through the plastic plug on top of the pump casing. Re-secure the bleed plug and then start the water pump motor and ensure there is water supply to the Gold Kacha wash jets and the screen wash hose. If the Gold Kacha is higher than the pump, you may have to close off the 50mm bypass valve on the 50 mm suction hose to get water flowing. If there is too much water flow to the Gold Kacha, this bypass valve can be opened gradually to reduce the water volume delivered to the concentrator.

8. As soon as you have water feed to the Gold Kacha, start the concentrator motor. If using the petrol version, check that the inner bowl rotation speed is between 90 and 110 rpm. If this needs to be adjusted, use the throttle to get the concentrate bowl running at the correct speed. If you cannot measure the rotation speed, please begin to feed material and adjust the throttle until the bowl fills with slurry and resembles the diagram shown below (The slurry should just touch the feed launder).

9. You can now start to feed the material onto the top screen (enough not to chock the screen), and assist the washing process by using the hose to agitate the material until all fines have been separated from the oversize material. As soon as the screen has built up enough oversize material to hinder the effective washing process, this material should be tipped off the screen by hand and the process continues.

10. After approximately 1 hour there should be enough concentrate that has built-up in the bowl riffles to commence purging. Stop the Gold Kacha and the water feed. Place a concentrate box or bucket below the machine and pull the drain plug out. Using the wash hose, purge all the concentrate caught in the bowl into the concentrate box or bucket. This concentrate can then be panned or run over a concentrating table (e.g. Gemeni Table) for final upgrade before smelting.
