least Lower Second Class honours from JKUAT or any other University recognised by the Senate but with relevant work experience in Statistics A holder of a Bachelors degree with at least Upper Second Class Honours, having studies Mathematics as a single subject or as a major of two subjects, with a substantial number of units of Applied Mathematics, studied at the degree level at JKUAT or any other University recognised by the Senate. Under exceptional circumstances a holder of a Bachelors degree with Lower Second Class Honours or its equivalent may be eligible for registration provided that the candidate can produce evidence of proven research ability in Applied Mathematics. In addition to meeting one of the requirements above, all students who are admitted to the course are expected to be proficient in at least one high level computer programming language. A holder of a Bachelors degree with at least Upper Second Class Honours, having studies Mathematics as a single subject or as a major of two subjects, with a substantial number of units of Pure Mathematics, studied at the degree level at JKUAT or any other University recognised by the Senate. Under exceptional circumstances a holder of a Bachelors degree with Lower Second Class Honours or its equivalent may be eligible for registration provided that the candidate can produce evidence of proven research ability in Pure Mathematics. In addition to meeting one of the requirements above, all students who are admitted to the course are expected to be proficient in at least one high level computer programming language.

UNDERGRADUATE COURSES: SNO 1. COURSE Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science (BAS) (Day Programme) MINIMUM ENTRY DURATION REQUIREMENTS (KCSE) mean aggregate of at least grade C+ (plus); At least C+ (plus) in both Mathematics and English; Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) or the A-level equivalent should have at least two (2) principal passes including Mathematics; An equivalent qualification recognised by the University Senate. Diploma applicants: Holder of Diploma in Applied Sciences with at least a CREDIT PASS in relevant subjects from an Institution recognized by the University Senate, Or Diploma in relevant subjects with at least a CREDIT PASS from an institution recognized by the University Senate (KCSE) mean aggregate of at least grade C+ (plus); Must have a C+ (plus) in Mathematics. In addition, a student must have at least a C in both subjects from the following alternatives: 1. Chemistry or Physics 2. Physical Science or Biological Science. OR Have a minimum of 2 principal passes in Science subjects in General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level/Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE). Certificate in County Governance (3 months) (Full time OR Part time evening /weekends)

Be a holder of KCSE with a minimum aggregate of C- OR Be a holder of KCE division IV with at least a Pass in both Mathematics and English/Kiswahili OR Be a holder of a Credit pass in any relevant certificate course from an institution recognized by the University OR Holders of KCSE mean grade D- may be admitted to the certificate course provided they have at least two (2) years experience in County/Local authorities environment OR Be a holder of any other qualification accepted by the University Senate as equivalent to any of the above.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Applications will be made on prescribed forms obtained from the Campus Finance Department upon payment of nonrefundable fees of Kshs 1,500/= for Ph.D, Masters & Bachelors degree Courses, 1,000/= for all Diploma Courses and Kshs. 500/= for Bridging/Certificate Courses. Duly completed application forms with copies of certificates, transcripts/result slips, copy of ID and the copy of the application fee receipt should be returned to the Campus Administration Block by 28TH MARCH, 2013. LOCATION: JKUAT Nairobi Campus is located about 10km from the City Centre on the Kabarsiran Avenue off Waiyaki Way, Next to Kianda School and opposite Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK).
