PROJECT PROFILE: CLIENT DESCRIPTION: DFS (Duty Free Shops) is a part of Louis Vuitton-Moet Hennessey Group, a global conglomerate of fashion and luxury goods companies. DFS-Galleria is a chain of Duty Free Shops specializing in fashion and luxury goods. DFS Group Limited, based in San Francisco, California, is the world's leading retailer for international travelers. DFS was founded in Hong Kong in 1961 as a liquor, tobacco, cosmetics and fragrances duty-free concession at the airport. In 1962, DFS won its first duty-free airport concession in Honolulu. The company concentrated on the Asia/Pacific region as the fastest growing area for international travel. Its customers were primarily Japanese. In 1968, DFS opened its first downtown store in Honolulu for Japanese traveling on holiday. Cognizant provides a variety of application development, maintenance and other outsourcing services to DFS-Galleria. PaxTrax This is a web-based J2EE application that provides the features of Customer Handling, Customs declaration, Sales processing and reporting, interface between the AS400 legacy applications and the POS solution. BagTrax - This is a web-based J2EE application and a mobile PC application that helps DFS warehouse and airport team in delivering duty free merchandise to the passengers at the date of their departure from Okinawa. CarTrax This is a web-based J2EE application and a mobile PC application that helps DFS in registering customers for car-rentals, handling their luggage, tracking customers movement in the store using RFID solution, delivering the car and the luggage at the right time to the customer in the garage. CommTrax Travel Agents as part of their conducted tours bring customers to the DFS Galleria, which acts to the benefit of DFS. DFS pays commissions to the Travel Agents based on the purchases made by the customers on the conducted tours. CommTrax is a web-based J2EE application and an AS400 based application that helps DFS in capturing tour and customer related information and then in calculating the commissions based on the purchased made by the customer. StockTrax StockTrax is a mobile PC, desktop and AS400 application that helps DFS in counting the stock available in their stores/warehouses and compare them with the counts reported in the legacy application on the AS400. This application helps DFS in detecting mishandling of merchandise. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: GTIN Impact Analyzer for AS400 is a web-based tool that automates the Impact Analysis on AS400 based applications for studying GTIN Compliance (Global Trade Item Number). The aim of this tool was to study the impact on the AS400 application using a set of user-defined rules and to generate the seed list (Database Impact) and the Program Impact List (Source Code Impact). This tool helped us in estimating our remediation effort (using LOC of Impact and % of DB Impact) and in fine-tuning the remediation strategy for this application. This web based approach aimed at creating a tool which was easy to port to various client places, without directly logging on to the AS400 or having to install any source code on the client AS400 system. This eliminated many security concerns of the clients. The projects make use of this application to track work from start to completion, log their efforts, generate quality related metrics and to perform effective resource/work allocation. Task Management system is a web-based application developed using Java, JSP and Servlets and is deployed on Websphere 3.5 Advanced Edition server. The main modules of Task Management System are Admin This module is used to configure the basic parameters of the applications. Only administrators would have the authority to use this module. Project This module will be used by the Project Managers to create projects and maintain data related to projects. Resources This module will be used by the Project Managers and Project Leaders to create resources and associate them to projects. Tasks This module is used by the Project Leaders to create Tasks (any piece of work), create activities under the task and assign it to a team member.

Timesheet This module is used by all the team members to log the effort that they have spent on the tasks. Reports This module helps Project Managers and Project Leaders to generate resource based, effort based and project level metrics.
