Interactions with students

Gentleness, knowledge of students as individuals, nurturing, warmth and encouragement, and an overall love for children. Interested in what students have to say. Listens to students and understands what they say and values what they share. Genuinely interested in students' lives, both inside and outside of school Portrays models, demonstrates, and practices fairness and respect. Consistently enforces rules and consequences. Does not exhibit favouritism, treats all groups equitably. Does not engage in tactics to embarrass them in front of their peers. Does not punish all for the actions of one. Investigates incidents thoroughly before enacting disciplinary procedures and treats students like people. Develops social relationships with students and does not limit interactions with them to content and classroom. Encourage them by attending their events, after school / weekends. Laughs and jokes with students, works with them on projects, and speaks to them in the community. Enhance student self-esteem and promote students' sense of belonging and connection to their school Belief that he or she can teach and that students can learn. Likely to instill enthusiasm in his or her students. Behavioristic -enthusiasm as positive reinforcement. Cognitive -pique the curiosity of their students, getting them ready and willing to learn. Dedicated to his or her profession; willingly collaborates with other teachers by shares ideas and strategies. Motivated to seek continuing education, subscribes to professional journals to learn new teaching strategies, new content discoveries, and other teacher-related tasks. Conduct research in their schools, hold leadership positions on school committees, publish in academic journals, and present professional development courses or research findings. Value their own educational pursuits and share these experiences with their students Careful review on the teaching process. Consistently think and critique own teaching. Think about the strengths and weaknesses. Make notes about what occurred and how to improve. Not rely on last years lesson plans for the new school year.
