A constructed piece of packaging inspired
by Thomas Heatherwick. The final design is
representational of his work and his genius.

Stand By…
An interactive installation aimed at young people,
to help raise awareness of their individual carbon
footprint. To facilitate open discussion and ultimately
provoke change.

Moments Under The Influence

A collection of flick-books promoting alcohol
awareness among young people. The books
illustrate different situations young people often
find themselves in, after consuming alcohol.

Redivider
A visual explanation of a palindrome. The design
works by encouraging the viewer to solve the
contained puzzle and correct folding pattern and
then send it back to me. Like a palindrome this
solution works both ways.

Signs & Symptoms

A visual exploration into the mind of a schizophrenic.
Investigating the idea of the condition as an invisible
illness. Documenting a variety opinions from people
who have had a direct personal account of this all to
often misunderstood illness.

A variety logos designed for DUSA,
Dundee University’s Students Association.

A film piece showing the MTV virus as a bright http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86HDFRggZxc

colourful liquid. The virus is an organic life form

that actively seeks out hosts and consumes them.
Invading and disrupting various urban environments,
transforming and mutating with every interaction.

A photographic documentation capturing the effects
of the MTV virus and its direct effect on the variety of
people and spaces that has came in contact with this
euphoric substance.

An alternative Christmas mailer. Created for ico
ico Deign Consultancy, who wanted to produce
a practical festive greetings solution that could
be reused by the recipient over the festive period.

JORDAN NELSON­­ BACKGROUND_
I was born in a little mining village in Edinburgh
TOO MANY FRECKLES… called Newcraighall. I studied graphic
design in Dundee (the city of discovery)
at Duncan of Jordanstone, College of Art
& Design. I successfully completed my
degree with a first class honours and was
awarded the Jim Campbell award —
best overall graphic design student of the year.
I also gained membership to the International
Society of Typographic Designers and was
awarded a merit for my submission.
I am currently looking for a new challenge,
a new experience, an adventure—and I’m
prepared to relocate for the right opportunity.
STRENGTHS_
_I am an enthusiastic creative person with
a thirst for knowledge and a passion for
design. I aspire to create design that is
aesthetically pleasing while maintaining
a strong conceptual grounding. I love the
excitement and the journey of developing
an idea from the initial stages through to the
final outcome. I appreciate and understand
the importance of the creative process and
feel passionately that strong research and
development is the essence of any project
and vital towards informing and underpinning
a final solution. I am a highly driven person
with lots of ambition – a bit of a perfectionist
