It is true that we have to play many roles when we live in our society depending on our work and social

status we have. On many occasions, we may have to participate in formal or informal discussions, meetings, seminars, debates, conversations etc. Sometimes, we may be asked not only to attend a certain meeting or a seminar but also to conduct a meeting where we have to introduce a guest speaker/s to an audience. In such cases, it is very necessary for anyone to know the formal manner how a guest speaker is introduced to a meeting, discussion or a seminar. In this task, first of all, you are required to build the image of the speaker in such a manner that both the speaker and the audience will be very much impressed to a good degree whereby the speaker can build up a sound rapport with the audience which makes him/her easy to do his/her task effectively and successfully. To do your duty well, you should try to get the speakers bio data in advance and find out the real human being behind the picture. What are his/her unknown facts, personal interests, achievements in his chosen filed, interests in social services, charity, philosophy, faith and national and international recognition etc? Once you have finished this step, next, you have to think of the sequence as to how this information is presented logically. You should remember that you are not going to read out a bio-data of a person but it is an act of image building.

In sequencing details of a speaker, you can follow the following flow chart which will give you a clear idea of this process. (Good morning/afternoon/evening) Greeting (It gives me great pleasure) Introductory statement (President) Position (.) Experience/qualification (Ladies and gentlemen) Recognition of audience (Mr. Takashi) Name of the speaker (Advisor) Extra Information
