Glossary BIM (building information modeling): A 3D, object-oriented approach to computer-aided design. BIM processes revolve around virtual models that make it possible to share infor mation throughout the entire building industry. These virtual models contain embedded data which, when shared among design team members, greatly reduces errors and makes the process of designing, constructing and operating buildings more efficient.
