MESSAGE
To our Dear Students, Parents, Teachers, Staff, Administrators and Partners in Education,
Greetings of Peace! Another school year is coming to a close, signalling a start of a new chapter for most you. Youll move on to high school, college or vocational school, while some of you may immediately join the workforce. Whichever path that stretches out before you, you can be sure that it is a fresh one, a renewed one. We are entering a period in the worlds history in which many in the old systems are being dismantled, gradually being replaced by newer, and hopefully, better ones. Technology, governments, businesses are fast evolving, recognizing that you, the individual, are a significant part of a bigger whole. You matter, and what you do matters. The Philippines is no stranger to this transforming reality. More than ever, your country recognizes your role in society, government and the economy. And so we are investing heavily on you; putting our hopes in each one of you. In education alone, we have introduced changes which aim to equip you with more relevant knowledge and skills for the new economy. The K to 12 Basic Education program is a massive upgrade of lessons, subjects and methods to ensure we are honing your gifts to maximize your potential. You are at the heart of this upgrade. In helping you grow to be the persons you are meant to be, we are helping build the nations future. The fruits of these efforts will take years before they yield fruit, but they will definitely affect, with positive force, all sectors of society. You have the capacity to effect these changes. I pray that you relentlessly seek and build better lives for yourselves and for the larger community around you. To our parents, teachers, staff and administrators, I thank you for your patience and support as we undergo these radical changes. An investment is not an investment without capital. Your support and sacrifices make up the capital which would bring us to see our children lead and live in a country much transformed by your investment. Thank you! And to all our partners in education, to our proponents in Congress, local government units, the private sectors and various non-profit organizations, you are well-aware that your generosity in sharing your resources and support will go a long way and return to you hundredfold, in one form or another. Thank you for believing in Filipino youth! On behalf of the Republic of the Philippines, we congratulate you, our graduates of 2013! Mabuhay ang Kabataang Pilipino!

MESSAGE
Indeed, it is my pleasure to congratulate all graduates of school year 2012-2013 as well as their proud parents. This years theme Building the Nations Future Leaders through the K-12 Basic Education Curriculum, should serve as your guiding principle. Although, you are not products of the K-12 curriculum, you can be potential leaders of our country by supplementing the skills and competencies you failed to acquire during your elementary and high school years. Over the years, the Philippine Education has the shortest cycle compared to any country in Asia. It is not long enough to cover he subject matter and develop the skills necessary to enable our young graduates to become productive members of society and live dignified lives which other countries have done as part of the Basic Education. The K-12 curriculum expands the number of years in education and adds content to prepare graduates for either university or for work. Graduates of K-12 will be equipped with information, media learning and technology skills as well as innovative communication and career skills. Information and media learning will help rescue a nation at risk and realise the nations dream for future development in high technology, high skills and knowledge work. The innovation skills will allw the individual to become innovative in what they do. Communication and career skills will allow graduates to navigate complexities of life and work environment in a globally competitive information age. According to USEF Yolanda S. Quijano, A graduate of the K-12 Basic Education Program is an empowered individual who has learned through a program that is rooted on sound educational principles and geared towards excellence, the competence to engage work, to be productive, the ability to coexist in fruitful harmony with local and global community, the capability to engage in autonomous critical thinking and the capacity to transform other and self. These presuppose that the K-12 curriculum builds the nations leaders who are motivated by personal values, endowed with strong character and have a clear picture of the future. They are leaders of the country with enthusiasm to create a better world, patience with strong principles, sincere and fair and take the risks and give fruits to people. My dear graduates, go forth and make good use of the education that your alma mater gave you. Always believe that you chose your own kind of life and nothing is impossible in this world! Good luck! Remember, the realization of your dreams depends you. Mabuhay and God Bless. CORAZON P. BROWN, CESO IV Director III
