Residencia de ancianos en Yatsushiro Old People's Home in Yatsushiro

La region situada al sur de la Ciudad de Yatsushiro es una zona rural cruzada por montanas hasta el mar. Hinaku es un pueblecito a orillas del mar de China, conocido de antiguo por sus aguas termales, en el que recientemente se recuperaron al mar unos terrenos cercanos al Puerto de Pescadores . La residencia de ancianos, Hojuryo, fue el primero de los edificios construidos en esa zona . Los terrenos ganados al mar constituyen un espacio vasto y Ilano, ideal Para cumplir los propositos de la residencia de ancianos : un lugar para que un grupo reducido de 50 ancianos pueda vivir confortablemente . Antes de Ilegar a la solucion definitiva se Ilevaron a cabo varios estudios . Para aprovechar el asoleo, se decidid organizar las habitaciones en hilera . Espacios comunes tales como el comedor y el bano se dispusieron cerca de esta ala, en un bloque de dos pisos . La planta de los espacios comunes esta determinada por consideraciones de accesibilidad desde otras zonas del edificio, frecuencia de use de cada funcion y distancia a pie. El bloque de dos plantas esta emplazado en el extremo del solar mas cercano a la montaia, para evitar las vistas de la autopista . El resto del terreno se usa como campo de juego, lugar para tender la ropa, jardineria, etc. La serie uniforme de habitaciones, configurada por los muros portantes de hormigon armado, constituye el esqueleto sobre el que se apoya el forjado de cubierta de tipo unidireccional, con vigas formadas de perfiles T de acero, constituyendo una cubierta plana y uniforme que abarca todo el edificio . En su superficie se recortan una serie de huecos ovalados de diferentes tamanos que permiten el Paso de la Iluvia y la entrada del sol . La vision del cielo a traves de los huecos ovalados permite tener perspectivas cambiantes con el Paso del tiempo . La penetracibn del sol y la Iluvia en el edificio proporciona a sus ocupantes una consciencia del suave fluir del tiempo . Debajo de los huecos hay un pequeno monticulo artificial cubierto de vegetation, una portion de terreno cubierto de gravilla blanca y una plataforma de bambli, todo to cual ayuda a crear un decorado de fiction, como un diorama en un museo. A traves de todo el conjunF--To the south of Yatsushiro City across the rural area, mountains approach the sea . The land was recently reclaimed next to the fishing port in a little hot-spring town called Hinaku facing the Shiranui Sea. The nursing home for the elderly Hojuryo, was the first building constructed on the mite . Whereas the reclaimed land is a vast flat expanse, the building is intended as a place of comfortable living for a limited number of 50 people . Various studies were conducted before this solution was obtained . To benefit from the sunshine, private rooms are arranged in one row. Common spaces such as dining room and bathroom are located next to this wing and occupy a volume of two storeys. The floor plan for the common spaces is determined by accessibility from other parts of the building, frequency of use of each function, and the walking distance . The two-storey package stands on the far end of the site close to the mountain to avoid being affected by the proposed highway. The rest of the plot is used as a gate-ball pitch, a space for hanging laundry, gardening, etc . A series of uniform private rooms spans and forms the skeleton construction with the RC partition walls and the Tshaped CT steel beams arranged in one direction and constituting a uniform flat roof over the entire building . Oval holes of different sizes and angles are cut out of the flat roof to introduce and distribute sunshine and rain . The sky seen through the oval holes brings changing scenes with the passage of time . As the sunshine and rain penetrate into the premises, people become aware of the gentle flow of time . Underneath the holes are a small mound covered with flowering plants, a small plot of ground covered with white gravel, and a bamboo deck, looking like a diorama in a museum and creating a fictional environment . The package and the landscape penetrate each other as the lawn and the exposed PC plate passage lead into the common space and the open deck and the bathroom area project into the garden . Both visually and functionally, the entire site is unified as one large field.

to se producen continuas interpenetraciones entre el edificio y el paisaje exterior, como cuando el cesped y el pasillo de cemento Portland visto se introducen en el espacio comun, o como cuando la plataforma abierta y la zona del bano se proyectan hacia el jardin . De esta forma, la edificacibn se fusiona visual y funcionalmente con el entorno, creandose un todo unificado . Aunque la edificacion global sea rigida, la libre organizacion de sus componentes en este transparente escenario arquitectonico permite desarrollar con fluidez multitud de actividades de diferentes tipos .

The entire construction is rigid, but because of the loose arrangement of the components, a multitude of activities and scenes of different scopes can be unfolded in this transparent architectural environment .
