200 new branches at convenient and prime locations across main centers in the country. Recruiting and selecting nearly 1600 efficient new staff. Orienting the new staff with the technology, staff and workings in the bank. Training the new and existing staff for better human resource capital. Need for more training centers. Advertising the new branch network for better brand recognition.

Recruitment of staff:
For 200 new facilities ASB requires around 1600 new employees (since average no. of staff in one branch is 8). The various methods of recruitment available are:
Job centers- These are paid for by the government and are
responsible for helping the unemployed find jobs. It is a free service which will save the recruitment cost. Advertisement- The bank will have to advertise for job vacancies. The major forms of advertising options available are: newspaper, online advertising, recruitment fairs etc.). This is the most cost incurring but effective method. Recruitment agencies: head hunter Agencies like RAC, NJR can help the bank find suitable candidates. Personal recommendation: often referred as word of mouth and can be a recommendation from a colleague at work. It saves advertising cost. (Riley, 2012)

Conclusion:
While spreading the branch network, ASB has to invest in the property in both rural areas and prime locations in Wellington and other main centers like Auckland, Hamilton and Christchurch. There is a need for better branching in south island to increase the market share. Advertising and training of employees is cost incurring but beneficial for ASB in the long run. Hiring a mix of greenhorns(less experienced) and experienced staff for better resource utilization. Providing both the on job and off the job training to new and existing staff. Rotating some of the existing staff to new branches to keep a

balance in the overall experience. Fulfilling the requirements of both new and existing staff mentioned above for ASBs better workforce. If these changes are implemented effectively ASB can reach new heights and a larger market share and be the best in its sector.
