Core Network Manager Chief Technical Officer (CTO)

Job Summary/Scope: Planning/Configuring/Maintaining the ICX core network (Switching). NOC trouble ticket escalation and follow up. Process Development for Change/Upgrade/Downgrade the system capacity. NOC infrastructure configuration and maintenance. Reporting of the system health and capacity utilization.

The core network consists of Class 4 Switch with related datacom and transmission. Duties and Responsibilities

Maintains the Core Systems and network per the companys balance score card and key performance indicators Analyses data, develops reports on the status and quality of the network Manages the Network Section consisting of 1 other personnel who serves as the Network Operations Center Engineer in Charge Responsible for developing processes and procedures for the Network Section to ensure its smooth operation Responsible for periodic/on demand maintenance support for the network Conducts performance reviews and counsels employees as needed Attends or chairs meetings with partners and customers and is responsible for recording those meetings and commitments Responsible for planning, engineering, installations and maintenance for the Core Systems including datacom and IP network Coordinates all configuration and management changes to the network with partners, customers, and upper management as required Obtains cost quotes, issues purchase requests, and follows finance policies and procedures in the ordering and budgetary controls Assists the CTO in the development of the annual CAPEX/OPEX budget for Operations Ensures the security and protection of data as required by company policy Manages tracks and keeps an accounting of all spares for the Core Systems including datacom and IP networks, and maintains proper levels to reduce outages and losses to the company Escalates and makes recommendations concerning major outages to upper management Composes and types routine correspondence and memoranda using word processing software. Compiles and types statistical reports including tables and text using spreadsheet software as requested by upper management or the company Makes recommendations to increase capacity or improve the performance of the Core Network as needed Follows QA policies and procedures and submits to audits as required by the CTO and/or Company Establishes and maintains permanent files; files and retrieves files as requested. Sits in from time to time as CTO when needed Performs other related duties as required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


Expert knowledge in TDM SS7 signalling Expert knowledge in Ethernet, IP, Routing protocols Expert knowledge in Switching and VoIP Systems Expert knowledge of Operational and Business Support Systems Skill using a personal computer and various software packages Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision. Ability to handle recurring problems

Credentials and Experience:


Graduation in EEE or Telecom Engineering Certificates/workshop in any of the following are recommended IP Routing, Data Switching, Network Security, SS7, TDM, VOIP, IPV6 etc. Minimum 2 years experience managing and/or supervising telecommunications networks Equivalent combination of education and experience

Special Requirements: Willing to work extra time, holidays, and weekends as required by the CTO or Company.
