On April 1, 2013, F.L., F.L. and F.L. son responded to 46XX Bessie to view and possibly purchase an SUV they had seen listed on Craigslist. The victims had communicated with the seller via text message regarding the address and time. The defendant approached the victims and asked them to come to the alley to purchase the vehicle. They refused and requested he bring the vehicle to the street. The defendant disappeared behind the home and shortly thereafter two individuals approached the vehicle. One individual pointed a gun at F.L. and ordered him out of the vehicle. He ordered F.L. to give him his money and took a cell phone and US Currency. F.L. and his juvenile son were also ordered from the vehicle by a second individual. This individual searched F.L. and took $2500. The two individuals then fled in F.L. Chevy pickup truck. The defendant admitted to me that he facilitated the robbery by posting the Craigslist ad, contacting and corresponding with the victims, and meeting them on April 1, 2013. He also stated that he coordinated and orchestrated the robbery with the other suspects. On April 3, 2013, P.W., J.W., and D.B. responded to 44XX Elmbank Avenue to view and possibly purchase a vehicle they had seen listed on Craigslist. Victim W. had communicated with the seller of the vehicle regarding the address and time to meet. They arrived at 44XX Elmbank. They observed two individuals walking past the vehicle. These individuals then turned around and approached the vehicle. D.R. approached the driver side and pointed a gun at the vehicle. The driver, P.W., placed the vehicle in drive and the D.R. fired multiple shots at the vehicle, striking P.W. in the face and back. Several other bullet holes were located in the vehicle.
