James Madison Fellowship

These fellowships support the graduate study of American history by aspiring and experienced secondary school teachers of American history, American government, and social studies. A highly competitive scholarship, the Marshall provide for two years of study at a university in Great Britain. Sixty awards given among First, Second, and Third Teams. The top 20 students are designated members of the First Team and will be featured in the newspaper and provided a $2500 cash award. The awards are open to full-time undergraduates of at least junior standing at four-year institutions. Students must be nominated by their schools. Criteria includes grades, academic rigor, leadership, activities and most important, the student's essay describing his or her most outstanding intellectual endeavor as a college undergraduate. Whitaker International Fellows Program

The Whitaker International Fellows Program awards year-long grants to students with a BS or MS in biomedical engineering, bioengineering, or a demonstrated commitment to the field of BME to study at an institution abroad within three years of their graduation. Demonstrated language ability for the proposed country of study and a nomination letter from the Biomedical Engineering Department are required. Application deadline is early February. Wooddy Actuarial Scholarship

The Wooddy Scholarship is awarded annually to college seniors who have successfully completed at least one actuarial examination, rank in the top quartile of their class and are nominated by a professor at their school.
