Bucilla Six-Strand, 1 skein Yellow. White Knitting Needles, 1 skein Yellow. White Crochet Hook, Size 1. Gauge: 8 sts = 1 inch; 11 rows = 1 inch MeasurementsChest 21 ins. Width of panties 22 ins. around. Length from crotch to back of neck 17 ins. BackBeginning at crotch, with size 2 needles and color, cast on 24 sts. Work stockinette st (p 1 row, k 1 row), casting on 2 sts at end of each of 20 rows; then 4 sts at end of each of 6 rows (88 sts). Work even until 8 ins. down center, or desired length to waistband. Drop color, do not break. Change to size 1 needles. With White work k 1, p 1 ribbing, working every 7th and 8th st tog. 10 times, finish row (78 sts). Continue ribbing, working 1 more row white, then 2 rows color, 2 rows white alternately until there are 15 rows, end with 1 row color. Inc. rowWith color work 1 more row ribbing, increasing 1 st in every 12th st 6 times, finish row (84 sts). Break color. Change to size 2 needles, with white, work stockinette st for 3 ins., or desired length to underarm. ArmholesBind off 4 sts at beginning of next 2 rows for underarm. Dec.1 st each side every 2nd row 4 times (68 sts). Work even until 3 ins. above underarm, end with p row.

ShouldersBind off 7 sts at beginning of next 6 rows (21 sts for each shoulder). Place remaining 26 sts on holder for neck. FrontWork same as back until 2 ins. above underarm, end with p row. Next rowK 44 sts and place on holder, k remaining 24 sts for right front. Working on sts of right front, dec. 1 st at neck edge every 2nd row 3 times (21 sts). Work even until 3 ins. above underarm. Shape shoulder as for left shoulder of back. Leaving 20 center sts on holder, take up remaining 24 sts for left front; finish to correspond to right front. SleevesWith size 1 needles and color, cast on 56 sts. Work k 1, p 1 ribbing working 1 row color, 2 rows white, 1 row color. Inc. rowWith color, work ribbing increasing 1 st in every 8th st 6 times (62 sts). Break color. Change to size 2 needles, with white work stockinette st until 2 ins. from lower edge. Bind off 3 sts at beginning of next 4 rows; 2 sts at beginning of next 14 rows. Bind off 22 sts.

Crochet Edges On ShouldersBeginning at neck edge, on right front shoulder, work 19 sc to armhole edge. 2nd rowCh 1, turn, 1 sc in each of 4 sts, * ch 1, skip 1 st for buttonhole, 1 sc in each of 4 sts; repeat from * twice. 3rd rowCh 1, turn, 1 sc in each st (19 sts). Fasten off. Work left front shoulder to correspond. Work 3 rows sc on each shoulder of back, omitting buttonholes.

Neck BandsWith size 1 needles and color, working from right side, pick up and k 4 sts on ends of sc rows of right shoulder of back, k across 26 sts at back of neck, pick up and k 4 sts on ends of crochet rows of left shoulder (34 sts). Work k 1, p 1 ribbing, working 1 row color, 2 rows white, 1 row color. With color bind off in ribbing. Beginning at left shoulder of front, with color, pick up and k 4 sts on ends of sc rows, 14 sts to front of neck, k 20 sts of front of neck, pick up and k 18 sts on other side to correspond (56 sts). Work k 1, p 1 ribbing for 1 row. 2nd rowWith white, continuing ribbing, work 2 sts, yo, work 2 tog (buttonhole), work to within 3 sts of end, yo, work 2 tog, work last st. Finish to correspond to band at back. FinishingCrotch BordersWith color, beginning on right side, work 22 sc across edge of back crotch. Work 2 rows more on these sts. Fasten off. Work back crotch border in same way. Sew side seams. Leg RibbingWith size 1 needles and color, working from right side, pick up and k 4 sts on ends of crochet rows, 68 sts around leg, 4 sts on end of crochet rows (76 sts). Work k 1, p 1 ribbing for in. Bind off in ribbing. Finish other leg in same way. Sew sleeve seams, sew sleeves to armholes with seams matching. Face wrong side of crotch opening with narrow ribbon. Lapping front crotch over back, sew 5 snap fasteners across opening. Steam. Embroider in duplicate and outline st, see chart, making 1 chick in center front and 2 each side spaced evenly.
