How has the growth of the internet for government reasons influence people around the world?
The internet has changed and grown within the last ten years. The government adds their versions of websites to the internet. These sometimes secretive organizations protect their sites by unbreachable firewalls and digital warriors patrolling the Cyber highways. The increased use of the internet by the government is causing unrest and distrust in people around the world because of moving aggression, government censorship, and anti-government hackivists. The government in the US is a true look in to democracy and freedom for poor less fortunate countries around the world, but no government is perfect. Censorship of political speech and information, most notably on the Internet, is openly and routinely used in China to silence criticism of the government and the ruling Communist Party says reporters in China. A group of conspirators called the Anonymous have been hacking into government websites since

2008 with sites like the FBI website. They have been called the digital Robin Hood or Anarchic Cyber-guerrillas by CNN. They are connected to sites like Enyclopaedia Dramatica, associated forums, and Wikis. Time magazine called the Anonymous one of the most influential groups in the world. The goal of the Anonymous is to show people how corrupt they think the government is according to International media groups. They live all over the world, as a leaderless organization undermining corrupt governments. The Anonymous recently hacked the government United States Sentencing Commission on January 25, 2013 that they called Operation Last Resort after a member of their group killed themself. In the hack, the Anonymous replaced the government webpage with a service page commending the dead member. According to the Department of Justice, The statement suggested retaliation for Swartz's tragic suicide, which many - including the family - believe was a result of overzealous prosecution by the Department of Justice and what the family deemed a bullying use of outdated computer crime laws(Wikipedia). Operation Last Resort is the name
for an Anonymous campaign that seeks reform of computer crime laws says Mattew J. Schartz of Information Weekly. The Anonymous dont want to have gun control, like many of us, they

believe that it is a crime against freedom. And freedom is what they are willing to die for. When the Anonymous was founded in 2003, they first just made their own websites instead of hacking others. When they started to seize certain sites on Wikis, the government kicked up the Cyber Warfare program. In 2009, President Barack Obama declared America's digital infrastructure to be a "strategic national asset," (Watson)and in May 2010 the Pentagon set up its

new U.S. Cyber Command. It tracks suspicious activity over the U.S digital infer structure from what might be terrorist activity. One thing the government cant stop is viruses on our home computer. As the white walls of Washingtons government move through the internet, we will find only that the world gets more dangerous. One freedom we have is to trust our government or not to, but there will always be those who seek reform of the internet. The increased use of the internet by the government is causing unrest and distrust in people around the world because of moving aggression, government censorship, and anti-government hackivists.
