2013 - ISSUE 7 April 9, 2013
Dear Church, On the first Thursday of each month, I have been given a standing invitation to join our CWF Mary Group for their time of fellowship and learning. I am grateful for the opportunity, and not only because of the delicious refresh-
pronounced the earth good, and too many of our actions hurt or destroy life on earth instead of nurturing life. Its not always easy to make lifestyle choices that are good for the environment, but fortunately, EDCO our local disposal company has made it easier to get rid of hazardous waste. Items such as unused prescriptions, sharps, electronics, batteries, pesticides and fertilizers, and even used cooking grease are bad for the environment when
ments they always have! At their most recent gathering, the topic was water. Millions of people in developing countries struggle to find safe drinking water. Meanwhile, here in the United States, millions of people spend money on bottled water even though tap water is, generally speaking, just as good (if not better), and a whole lot cheaper. The energy required to make plastic bottles, fill them with water, and then transport them to stores is phenomenal and creates a lot of pollution. Then we throw away countless plastic bottles that end up in the ocean or landfills. The conversation that took place among this group of church women inspired me. It reminded me of the responsibility we have as Christians to care for Gods creation, and for the people who dwell in it. Too often, we forget that God
thrown into the trash. In some cases, it is even illegal to just throw these items into the trash can. The EDCO Environmental Collection Center, located just two miles from the church, is now open and can receive these items. Ive included in this newsletter an article with all the details. Check it out; and as you do your part to protect the planet, give thanks for the wonderful gift of Gods creation! Blessings, Pastor Danny
