PERSUASIVE ORAL PRESENTATION OUTLINE TASK SHEET (10%) STUDENT ASSESSMENT

Title of Presentation 1. Justify your topic by describing the problem that you have identified. My presentation title is Believe in Superheroes. I choose this topic because nowadays most people do not realize existence of the real superhero that can be a good motivation for them to success in their life. The true characteristics of superheroes should be acknowledged to them in order to make better changes in life. Audience 1. How did you determine the knowledge level/stand/viewpoint of your audience? Before my presentation, I did a survey to the audience about their view and opinion toward the word of Superheroes. I discovered that many of them have a wide view of the word itself which will be helpful in understanding my presentation. 2. How did this information influence your presentation? The responses that I got from the survey indicate that most of my audiences are able to understand the topic that will be discussed. Their initial opinion toward superheroes is not restricted to only the literal meaning of the word. 3. How do you plan to gain the audiences attention? In order to gain the audiences attention, I plan to use some pictures that can really differentiate the fantasy superheroes and the real superheroes. I will also separate my content of presentation by question statements which make the audience stay focus to search for the answer throughout my explanation. 4. In relation to your topic, what are some ethical issues that you took into consideration? Explain. The ethical value that I consider during my presentation is that I will appreciate any opinion about the superheroes by the audience. Therefore, I will only take them to view the topic in a wider prospective which in the end will make them appreciate people that are important around them. The word of superheroes is only a trigger for them to realize and start appreciating people.

Presentation 1. Introduction What is your thesis statement? My thesis statement is that in our life, someone will always be our superhero. What is the purpose and importance of choosing this topic? I choose this topic because nowadays, people tend to forget that there is someone who is really important in our life. Appreciating these people as our superheroes will make us dare to dream, realize the hope, gain the strength to fight and have belief in ourselves. How is the topic relevant to the audience? As most of the audiences are young generation of university students, this topic will able to motivate them to do better in their study. List the main points that will support your thesis statement. 1. The definition of superheroes 2. The example of real superheroes 3. Lesson that can be learned from the superheroes How are you establishing credibility? I will establish my credibility by relating all my success until this day with my understanding about the real superheroes in my life.

2. Body Which organizational pattern are you using? Justify your choice. I will start each of my main point by asking question to the audience. The questions will then by answered by some pictures that will help the audience to have better view about the main points. List the supporting ideas for each main point. 1. The definition of superheroes the meaning of superheroes depends on how people define it. 2. The example of real superheroes a great leader or a father can be great superheroes.

3. Lesson that can be learned from the superheroes - they give hope, dream, strength and belief. How do you ensure that there is coherent transition from one main point to the next main point? I ensure the coherence of the points by relating them as a process of life where people need to do something after they have known a new thing. Describe how you are going to summarize after each main point. I am going to summarize each of my main point by restating the idea behind all the main points.

3. Conclusion How do you plan to effectively conclude your persuasive presentation? I plan to have a heart-to-heart speech to the audience by saying a few quotes that make them realize that they have learned something meaningful from the presentation. Appeal to senses: statement, phrase, I will end my presentation with this phrase when you start appreciating someone as your superheroes, it is the time you see changes in your life. Describe how you are going to summarize the entire presentation. I will summarize my entire presentation by encouraging the audience to start appreciating people who are so important in our life because these people without we realize are the true superheroes for us. Describe how you are going to reiterate the purpose and importance of the whole presentation to relate to your audience. I will make the audience try to imagine that the moment they start appreciating some people in this life as superheroes, they will feel a lot more better about their own selves and be inspired by the people.
