This fact sheet provides information on climate change polling in the United States over the last year from a variety of sources.Overallthestudiesshow: TheAmericanpublicsconcernaboutclimatechange,whilestillbelow2007levels,isontherisenationwide. Thistrendholdsacrosspartylines,withgreaternumbersofDemocrats,Independents,andRepublicansviewingthis asaseriousissuethatwillaffectthemintheirlifetimes. Additionally,moreareconvincedthatglobalwarmingiscausedbyhumanactivitiesratherthannaturalcauses. Higherpercentagesofminoritiessayclimatechangeishappeningandsupportthepresidenttakingstepstoaddress theissue. WhileamajorityofAmericanssupporttheincreaseddeploymentofcleanandrenewableenergyandregulationof powerplantemissions,supportremainsweakforacarbontaxorcapandtrademeasures.
