Jack Martin Christian Worldview Mr. Kevin Ruthven 12/21/12 My Christian Worldview?

With many people in the world, there are many different view of the world because everyone is not living the same life as their neighbor. People experience different situations that gives them an opportunity to make a choice of that situation will shape them as a person. This may come from a circumstance like alcoholism or health problems. Or from experiences from the friends you associate with or a class. All these must affect you in some way. Either good or bad, you are affected. Personally, I find my worldview as complicated and unorganized to be categorized in any religious denomination. It seems to show aspects of different worldview because I have experienced a traditional Native American culture and encountered the religion of Christianity and Roman Catholicism. First of all, I will start with what I believe is real. I have a belief that there is reality outside of the physical world I am in now. Early in my life, I always had an idea of another higher power that intervened in some way to shape earth. I find that God fits that spot heavily because I have heard that God is the divine power that created the world. Until reading the More Than a Carpenter book, I feel I just accepted that fact as just a fact like in science class where you are given facts about how the world works and can

make other facts based on those original facts. However, now I find that creation from a God seems to be more acceptable than having creation come from a spontaneous event just by chance. Evidence seems more abundant in the belief that there is a God out there. I also see evidence that he interacts with people in a loving attribute. Through watching a friend of mine change from being an insulting character at the beginning of high school to become a person who shows a new compassion that for everyone, I have found a change that only took 3 years in the making. I would usually ponder how such a change is possible given the circumstance he is faced with. I have seen a change that almost seems miraculous and out of the blue. What I find to be the ultimate source of truth is that God provides that truth. However, I believe experiences give us the opportunity to find such truth that I believe to be hidden from us, but not impossible to find. I would say that there is an absolute truth to everything. Science is a profession that offers find truth through trial and data from the trials. Like science, there are many ways to find the truth. Manipulation offers every person to find truth in their own way, which is how I interpret humans to finding religious truth. They encounter different experiences that would lead them to the truth such going through a hardship. People always dont have a grandmother who becomes ill and is under critical conditions. Others are faced with addiction or confrontation to lead them to the ultimate truth. In one way, the truth will be reveal to us. I dont believe that all truth is true, but has some sort of fallacy that need to be corrected. However, I have also seen people of evolution to come to realization that truth includes a God. People just are heavily convicted with beliefs to change.

I believe that the nature what created through God because as Josh McDowell says ,There are more complex things in this universe that I could have been made by chance. DNA, in a biological sense, proves life is more complex and creation by chance seems to be more ambiguous than having a creator. Balance was another example that leans me toward Christianity even more because the world seems well adjusted to where life is made to sustain and flourish. I also find the world to be a magnificent place that has been corrupted by sin and evil. Earth may be a glorious good place that offers life to us, but it is people that are causing the pain and suffering. This suffering in a biblical coincides with Satan who is in control of evil. Even Satan himself was a good person in that he was an angel, but got the wrong intentions and was asked to leave Heaven. Bad intentions are the reason we suffering came into the world. I would define a human being as a person with free will that has a choice to be good or evil. This follows with how people are a corrupted with sin. Since I am heavily influenced by Christianity, I find that people are corrupted because we were given free will and we abuse it giving in to sin. We are the cause to our own downfall. Our human nature causes us to be tempted by sin and lead us to our downfall. With sin, we are dead. It also seems deserving because when sinning, we are doing the wrong thing and have not real right to be rewarded. The resurrection of Christ offers us to be saved and start a new relationship with God. I seems reasonable that we at least follow God since that is all He ask for in return for all the things He has done for us.

In this case, I believe that there is right and wrong because there has got to be something opposite to make distinction between the two things. Good is evident to us because we are able to distinguish it from evil. Good is based on the morals humans found to be categorized as being beneficial or pleasurable to us that does not cause any harm. Since we know what we thing is bad, we are able to say certain things are bad or good. This would be why many controversies on weather something is good or bad are made for certain situations. Abortion or same sex marriage are controversial in that some believe them to be good and other believe them to be bad. Once that ground is made, people reflect on what they thinks about
the matter to determine their own opinion. The Bible and other resources define what good is in a concise way to base opinions on. I believe morality is an absolute things that develops through opinion of individuals. The Bible may be the source to such concept of morality, but I believe people come to their senses that they think certain things are wrong to begin with. I believe we are created in a way that morality will get to us somehow so we know what is good and bad. This question proves to be an important question to determining worldviews. I believe that I was made to help benefit the world with whatever skills I possess. Evil seem to be something that leads me to believe that a God has given me a purpose on how to live my life. I believe that God has given me the purpose to believe in Him and ,in doing so, help other with their problem to lead them to their own purpose. Everyone has a similar purpose, but they are given different purposes that complement the original purpose. If we want to show God love, we must love. This would be the only way people will see the attribute of God and find that purpose they desire. The last question would be what happens when we die? I have an optimistic belief that we have a purpose as a human because we are working to reach something in the end. If we are doomed to die and end our story at that, there would be no purpose to live and I would be justified to say, Live like

tomorrow is the last day. I believe there is something in after life and I intend on believe such because I believe I have a purpose to do good. I feel life is the time we have to find our purpose and practice to live it out on earth for we will need later on probably in the afterlife. Jesus is such a reoccurring character in my life that I have a feeling He has got to be a big deal. He has been discussed in many lectures and even in popular culture that He must be something if people are able to debate this subject for as long as I can remember. In the evidence people offer, it seems factual that He is what He claimed to be since will give reason to deny it and other will give reason to why they accept it. If it was just like a situation where we someone admits its true and everyone gives up on the argument because it was not a big deal, then there would be confusion. People have fought over this so many times and want to prove it is wrong or right, the idea must be something of importance that people do so. I find Christianity resembles my belief of Jesus because Jesus is the central character in Christianity that most people argue is true of false. Many people are stubborn with this conviction that it has caused conflict and disturbances. It has been around for a long time historically and lasted all this time that there must be some truth to is. Also, the lifestyle is preaches has changed lives for the good. It offered a comfort when comfort was needed. I believe that it is right in some areas, but the Bible does not offer that option so I would go with the next best answer which is that it hold absolute truth in how we should act.
