1. Yokot Dam 2. Kamariny Intake 3. Tambach intake 4. Chebokokwa B/Hole

CLEAR WATER PUMPING STATION There is one clear water pumping at the treatment works within Iten town. The station boosts the water to high elevated areas such as police lines which cannot be supplied from the 150M3 low level ground tanks within the treatment works.

TOTAL NUMBER OF CONNECTIONS Due to the Companys efforts to ensure metering to all the number of connections has increased from 1450 in the month of July 2011 to 1548 in March 2012. The flat rate connections have however reduced from 881 to 817. Metered connections have increased from 569 to 731 within the same period which represents 99% of the total connections.

Revenue and expenditure Revenue over a period of nine months has risen from Kshs280,000 from the month of July 2011 to Kshs. 911,786 in the month of March 2012.The expenditure has however risen within the same period from 534480 to kshs. 749,043

REVENUE VERSUS EXPENDITURE Comparison of the Billing versus expenditure indicates that the monthly expenditure is higher than the monthly billing leaving no profit as would be expected. The high expenditure is attributed to the distribution pipeline extensions and the meter installations carried out by the company at the time.

Constraints The water supply is faced with several constraints and cannot serve the present town population with an estimated water demand of 3500 M3. These constraints can be summarized as indicated here below;

i. The old pipeline which was constructed way back in the 1950s often bursts thus disrupting flow to the consumers i. Limited capacity of the of Treatment works

ii. iii. iv. v. vi. vii. viii. ix.

Power disruption Lack of adequate storage facilities Huge electricity bills due to pumping units Insufficient water during dry spells Destruction of catchment areas Frequent siltation due to soil erosion Water lilies- vegetation coverage in the intake and dams Lack of adequate transport
