Technology Driven Future Education - A Challenge or Solution?

With the rapid pace at which technology is evolving, a paramount shift in education system is clearly visible. As the technology is following a stringent path with ever expanding speed, size & connectivity, these trends are shaping up our future education system. Today, technology has become a standard of credibility. Patterns & phenomenon developed before the Google era are becoming obsolete now. With a touch of a finger, we have vast knowledge base available to be explored. With a touch of a finger, digital in-person interaction is available. With a touch of a finger we can navigate through the world with high accuracy. This technology shift is being continuously adapted by our globally developing education system. A question arises what is next? Technology in the next decade may not just impact the traditional learning pattern of cause-effect relationship. Rather, improved blended learning models may lead schools struggling and justifying themselves in Digital era of instant access to information with various options and purposes. The Smart Teaching culture will rapidly find its way in smaller towns after being successfully implemented in the cities. Applications would supplement the existing textbooks in some districts or might even replace them. Digital literacy would ignite open source education patterns rather than closed source such as classroom teachings. Hence, the teachers might struggle in frequent up-gradation or matching of their skill sets with future technology shifts. Cloud dependent education will be a necessity, not an exception. This might provide better aggregation of student metrics, effective data sharing and visual assessment. Hence schools would need to strive hard to achieve level of expertise & excellence. Undoubtedly, upcoming education system may shape and yield Smarter Minds but would also raise a question on capability/ability of frequent and continuous technology adaptation by the education system. Hence, an extent of absorption would be necessary to be derived.
